Doubtless this has come up before, but where can I send my 146 (late seventies version) for repair and service in the UK?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Nick.

You could send it directly to MB in Richmond, or pop in to an authorized AD or boutique, who will send it in for you

What needs repairing? MB service may be able to fix it but it may cost you the value of a couple of limbs...

Are you coming to LWES on Sunday? If so, pop along to our table and I'll point you in the direction of an independent MB specialist.

Hi! New to the Forum. I would say you should ABSOLUTELY send it back to Mont Blanc! I was given a 144 in a really bad state of repair, the back part had been crushed (snapped off), the nib was blocked and the cap was cracked down the length. Total cost of repairs including loads of free ink and friendly advice? Just over £40 and they wouldn't do repairs until I agreed to costs ! Arrived yesterday and it looks beautiful.... For once, buying into a luxury brand pays off.. Telephone number on the invoice is 020 8332 4550, but I found the address etc on the Mont Blanc website. Good luck!!

Thanks,Guys. I'll start from here!

Welcome to the forum! I completely disagree, although I am glad you had a great experience. MB Pens that are not quite vintage but not quite modern either, like nickyd's, probably should not be serviced at the repair center. If you read some of the many posts here about 146/149 repair, you will learn that instead of repairing a pen, MB repair centers almost always replace parts on these semi-vintage pens, and that truly ruins the vintage-ness of them. For exaqmple, usually barrels are replaced because pistons for the 60s/70s pens are not produced anymore. There are other vignettes posted in this forum about replacement and not repair.

That's an interesting opinion,Eric. The main problem is a partial fracture of the ribbed bit that backs on to the tines (sorry about the unscientific description).
I would prefer not to have a 'modern' rebuild so I think I need an independent repairer.

For a "new" MB pen, I would always advise sending it back to Montblanc UK in Richmond. A standard service costs around £40, but for more vintage pieces, I might be tempted to find an indepedant more artisan approach!
