Full Version: "generic" japanese pen with store in NYC?

This question is kind of confused but bear with me. I remember seeing a story about a very simple silver colored pen made in japan. I THINK it cost about $10. It was made by a company that specializes
in 'stripped down' products, generic so to speak and this was their fountain pen. I think that they did or were going to open a store of their various products in NYC.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? If so, do you remember the name of the company and if the pens are available anywhere? Oh and the name of the pen?

I don't ask much, do I? Ha.

Muji? I think they did open a store in NYC, and MOMA sells some of their products, too.

Yeah, I'm also thinking Muji is the brand you're looking for.

Muji Pocket Short/Long FP reviewed here.

Aluminum-body Muji FP reviewed here.

Both ~$20USD, although I'm not sure whether these are carried in their NYC stores.

Yes, the fountain pen is indeed sold in NYC stores. However, it's definitely not $10. It was closer to $30 from what I sorta remember.

That's it. Muji is the one I was thinking of. I think it was $10 when it first came out, several years ago. Thanks, people!
