Hi all,

Im new to pen collecting, but not to forums, Ive done my searching (that for those people who always have something smart to say) well with that said I think this could be a start for sticky so everyone else is on the same page.

What are the sac sizes needed for esterbrook fountain pens. If someone would be as kind as to list them it would really help others out.

for example

J = size?
sj = size?

ps I have read DA Book (every one must read it)

and where can we buy the sacs for esterbrook pens. I would like custom sacs, in other words not the (one sac fits all) if possible. If you cannot list the site please email me or pm with the information.

Almost all Esterbrook Double Jewel J series pens take a #16 sac 1-15/16" long. The pens you indicate both fall in this category. The J should have a plastic sac support tray in the barrel to take up the extra space.

I usually get my sacs in bulk from the Pen Sac Company but other places exist. Tryphon and Wood Bin come to mind.

All Esterbrooks take a straight sac. Very few pens use a necked sac.

If you plan on trying your hand at restoration of pens, order the assortment of sacs. If you plan on working on Esties a lot, order extra sixteens.

Just wanted to chime in say that I just resacced my new J a few days ago and it was very easy to do. Works great now!
