Here are some photos of the latest Traveler in red and black bakelite. Solid sterling silver clip and bands, ebonite ends and section, steel nib, and this is a button filler ala the Stevens Button Filler where as the cap does not unscrew to reveal a button but in fact the cap is the button. Also the inscription 'To Travel Hopefully", from RL Stevenson, is engraved around the band.

This photo shows the internal component using an unfinished pen. You can see the long black tube is the sac for the ink. The long flat looking part is the pressure bar. When you want to fill the pen you unscrew the back (as seen in the photo) and push the back like a button. This bar is what bends when you push the button and squeezes the sac so when you release the button (and the pen is in ink) it will suck the ink into the sac.

Beautiful work, Dan! I don't make pens myself but I appreciate the creativity it takes to design and create a pen of one's own clap1.gif

I hope you don't mind me asking (as I realize that for many pen turners, it is purely a labour of love, and commerce might be the farthest thing from their minds smile.gif ), but are you selling the pens you make?
