Some of you might be aware of the Japanese mens magazine Lapita. It mostly caters to upscale middle-age men and has articles on fashion, cars, food, wine, watches, etc. Each of the last four years they have issued a custom designed fountain pen with an issue towards the end of the year. This year is with the October issue. I bought mine from Asahiya bookstore for a total of $17, magazine included.

These are smallish pens that use international cartridges. Made in China and write well. Versions #1 and #2 have cute little gecko on the nib. Now they have a stylized L.
For $17, plus an insightful (even if it is in Japanese) magazine, it is worthwhile. The entire series of pens might be worth collecting.
