'My kind of pens! What are they?

Today I'll probably be editing with my magically-fixed-itself PlatPrep in pink.

Near mint French Parker 75 Sterling Cisele w/18k med. nib and diamond cut cubic zirconia cabochon. I have never seen another pen like this. Date code TE (Q1 1985). In the photo on ebay, it was black with tarnish and barely recognizable, but it polished out perfectly. Beautiful pen!

Today was my first day using a rollerball since being introduced to Fountain Pens. I must say it went smoothly. It was a MB Le Grande 162 blck with platinm trim. I will be carrying it regularly now. Might not see much use but ill have it happyberet.gif

Dragon Pen with Dragon Blood just for Halloween , ah, wishes.

Robert Hughes
Belmont lever pen, sold by the Rexall Store in the 1930's. It has a Warranted 14k nib and is filled with Lamy Blue Black. It's primitive and eccentric, but it sure has character.

Today I used my wonderful old Pelikan 120, bought at the Conklin Book Store on College Street, in Appleton, Wisconsin, during my first week of college in 1970; it's fresh back from Ron Zorn's repair, leak all fixed, and filled with Private Reserve Lake Placid Blue. I had forgotten just how smooth that nib is...
flodoc
Bexley Stradivarius, "Berlin Hochschule" with 18k fine nib (original nib was broad). A beautiful pen in red and black hard rubber and a wonderful writer (as are all of my Bexleys).
wvbeetlebug
Summer Breeze Libelle with medium nib. Filled with Noodlers Aircorp Blue Black.
Purple Pilot Varsity. (Yes, the same one.)
jonro
Parker Deluxe Challenger with XF nib, filled with Aurora Black. This pen is one sweet writer.

It's a couple of days now I'm using a Montegrappa NeroUno... it's loaded with Pelikan Royal Blue cartridge because it didn't have a converter and that ink was the best I have in international cartridges.

I still have to decide if I like it or not. It's very heavy, so long, almost impossible to use posted IMHO... but I like the way it writes, nice line, not too smooth... and overall a great feeling of quality in material and assembly.

I don't know yet...

I am using a 1970's vintage UK Parker 61 Flighter with a wet broad nib loaded up with Quink Washable Blue.

Bexley Owner's Club 2006 in the blue/silver Tibaldi celluloid, inked with Waterman South Seas Blue (perfect match for the blue veins).

ca. 1947 Esterbrook transitional, copper color, 9556 nib.
It's the smoothest writer I have ever experienced.
Alas, it is not mine, and I'll have to give it back.

VP Raden (Pilot blue cartridge right now - will be moving to PR Ebony Purple, PR American Blue, or possibly Pilot Iroshizuku Syo-ro depending on if I feel flush)
silverblue Lamy AL-star (PR Ebony Green)
silvergreen Lamy AL-star (Noodler's Polar Black - my check-writing pen)
Cross Aventura (Cross black cartridge)
gold Sheaffer Agio (Sheaffer Skrip black cartridge) - this pen is a loaner from another VPC member and writes nicely but is a little thin for my hand. I'm also a little unclear on what model it is, but it looks like an Agio of some sort.
Jinhao Long March (PR American Blue)

These are all M nibs (yeah, I'm creative - I have some non-Ms coming in the mail!), though the VP M is more like a Western F, as many have noted.
wtisaac
My brand new (today) yellow Lamy Saffari fine point and an Eversharp Skyline Maroon & Gold striated w/ marron body (fine nib as well). Really impressed with this Lamy so far!

Let's see, in my pocket right now I have:
- a Reform 1745 with Levenger's "Blue Bahama's",
- an Esterbrook Transition (black) with Private Reserve "Plum", 1551 nib,
- an Esterbrook "J" (black) with Noodler's "Bay State Blue", 1554 nib,
- an Esterbrook "SJ" (black) with Fahrney's "Forest Green", 1555 nib,
- a Levenger "Seas" pen (green) with Levenger "Cobalt Blue",
- an Aurora "Ipsilon Classic" with Levenger "Always Greener",
- a Parker "Jotter", for those times when one must use one of those ballpoint abominations. sad.gif

I usually limit myself to a total of six pens, but I've been on a buying spree lately (the Esties) and as I had to ink them to make sure they worked I'm using them until they run out of ink. My wife tries not to let me out in public when I'm carrying this much hardware around. I don't understand that. rolleyes.gif

Today in the pouch I have:

MB 149 with fine flexible nib from the 1960s filled with "Cocktail" Dark Night ink from Paris.( Might do a review of that ink soon); and

Waterman's #7 in black with "Yellow" nib and blindingly yellow barrel end disk filled with some sort of blue ink from Levenger, can't remember which.

At home on the desk are my Raw Ebonite Mikado full of Parker Blue Quink and OMAS 360 with "Cocktail" Royal Blue.
