I don't have the budget for the high end pens, but my favorite pen that I carry most days is my Retro 51 Tornado. I have PR black cherry ink in it right now. I often carry a Jr. Gentleman pen that I made on my lathe. Black Quink ion that one!!

Blue Taccia Bamboo with PR Ebony Blue, Teal Pearl Bexley Simplicity with PR Ebony Green, Purple Taccia Continental with PR Ebony Purple. Gotta say that the purple flows better by far than the other two. The Ebony Blue was very slow and skippy in the FPN LE, so I switched to the Taccia Bamboo, where it's a little better, but the color seems awfully light.

Q: What pen are you using today?
A: Nothing special. I got an email this morning saying I needed to go to an Estate sale. Big box of Sheaffer pens there, really old ones. First clue here is the lack of the 's, but I go anyhow. Sure enough, a hand full of cartridge pens, one Parkette and one Wearever.
I toss them all in the cleaner just for fun and tonight I paid the bills with a red Wearever cartridge pen. Not a bad pen considering it was 0.98 new. Also inked up a Sheaffer school pen with a 304 nib.
Tomorrow I go back to using a Fligher ("51") and if I need a big line, a Minuskin nibbed "51".
Fun thread.

My newest pen acquisition which has been actually received is a Targa full size stainless, with F inlaid nib. I have used only it today, to take my sermon notes at church. Tomorrow I return to work, with the Targa, and an assortment of pens which I usually take, including a Danitrio Classic and a Hero 616, both of which get a decent workout.

QUOTE(amin @ Feb 12 2006, 04:37 PM)
Three today - two are new, and one is my all-time favorite:
1) New: Danitrio flex-fine polished raw ebonite Densho eyedropper model, Aurora Black ink. Was having problems with ink flow through the feed, but things are somewhat better after an adjustment by Jim At Bertram's Inkwell (Baltimore, MD). When the ink is flowing like it should, this is one amazing pen. If it gives me any more significant probs, will contact the ever-gracious Winedoc, but I think it's gonna be all good from here.
2) New: Blue Pelikan M605, medium nib, Aurora Blue ink. Bought on clearance at Bertram's, the same day Jim adjusted my new Dani, this is one hell of a pen. Slightly stingy with ink flow, but I'm okay with that. Different flow characteristics are called for with different inks/situations. The nib is pretty much a nail, but gets good line variation as the Pelikan standard seems somewhat of a stub by some other makers' standards. At least that's my relatively pen noob experience. I like this pen size physically more than any other Pelikan. Large enough for me to hold comfortably, but without the brass weight of its larger brothers.
3) Old: I'm rarely without one of two Parker 75s given to me by my dad. I remember playing with these pens at less than 5 years of age, and they still write as well or better than anything I have. The one I usually carry is a ciselé with a springy wet medium nib, always filled with Aurora Blue.
It seems the Parker 75 is very old, LOL. This was my first expensive pen, bought at Bovee Stationary in the Gables in 1990. I first bought a black matte, then I got a tortoise, with broad, that is a favorite of my Parkers. I don't know if the guy had it for ages there? but he closed up when Office Depot came to town a year later. I use this one now, because it is very new Stipula Vedo

During the day it was Pelikan M200 with Waterman Havana (appropriate, considering that I was at a conference on Caribbean-Scottish passages today). When I got home I had a parcel from the Writing Desk waiting for me with my Herbin Poussiere de Lune, so the Pelikan is now inked up with that. I'll probably use the 51 with Waterman Havana later, too.
