Current rotation is:
- Lamy 2000 M with Pelikan Royal Blue (my workhorse)
- Lamy Joy 1.5 with Lamy Blue (for fun notes, if only it were smaller!)
- Pelikan Pelikano Red M with Pelikan Red (no fear in losing it)
- Aurora 810 M (new entry!) with Sheaffer Brown (and she will stay in rotation a lot with such a color !)

Today I am going to ink up:
1) Shaeffer Balance tortoise marbled from early 30's - (Dip only, waiting on order of sacs...)
2) CS 75 Blue Marbled from the early 50's (new Ebay purchase.. Can't wait)
3) Mabie Todd Blackbird grey marbled from the 50's in fine point. (My first Mabie Todd pen and another new Ebay find)
Laundry and dishes await me and might just have to wait, and wait, and wait....
Have been steering away from the German pens lately and being turned on by the vintage quality British makers. I'd buy a different Conway Stuart for every day of the year if my pocketbook would allow. My problem is that I get a vintage pen, clean it up, then am so impressed with it that I want to store it in the display case unused and ink up a junker for the day. I'm very protective of my pens; probably too obsessive-compulsive.
Best,
Jeff

Last year, I bought my first Pelikan - an M400 - and it didn't write very well. I sent it back to the dealer for a nib replacement. Don't know what he did, but it didn't help. So it sat very depressed for months.

Finally I sent it to Pelikan and exchanged the fine nib for an extra fine. Now it is my edc and I am smiling!
Always ready at home are my Parker 51 and 61. I also am carrying in my backpack a Snorkel, because I don't care as much if something happens to it (sorry S lovers, but the grip on Snorkels feels so slippery to me). Finally, I love to carry a Namiki VP with a Binder italic loaded with Noodler's Firefly which I use as a highlighter.
Why do I love fountain pens so much?

Almost every day I've clipped to my shirt collar or pocket a black Pilot knight. I feel more sane carrying around work each day a pen that cost me less than $50. The clip looks nice and holds firm. Just wish they made it with a finer nib, then it's all I would carry. I use a green colored ink that stands out from the usual blue or black, for doing marking on students work.

Safely inside my sportscoat pocket, ... a Lamy 2000 with extra fine nib for writing in my pocket 3x5 inch leather bound moleskine-like notebook. I use noodlers waterpoof ink Its perfect for getting lots of thoughts into a small pocket notebook, and if I drop my notebook in a puddle my writing is safe.
At home (it's my most expensive pen) I'm doing creative writing with a previously owned pelikan 800 in a "envirotech" (spiral bound, 3 hole perf pages) notebook made by Ampad with 20lb 100% recycled paper.
I *was* carrying an old Esterbrook J with 2550 nib I got as a gift. Being my first *real* fountain pen I loved it! But then one day at work I uncapped it to find ink all over the grip and nib. And then with uncanny timing my co-worker asked to borrow my pen in a meeting. I got the chance to make a good first impression for fountain pens on my co-worker.. .and the Estie blew it. And I couldn't write my meeting notes, until after the break when I could clean up the pen at the washroom. From now on, I plan on carrying fountain pens that have less risk of leaking ink everywhere.

Today, I am using a Kaigelu 336, obtained from isellpens. It's a very pretty pen -- matte gold cap, checkered blue resin body, cute little "pregnant" bulge around the middle. And the nib is decorated with a kangaroo. The ink that came with it, though, is a very washed-out looking black, so I might flush it out and reload with a nice blue.

Wow, how did I end up with two consecutive posts in this very popular thread!? Today, it's a pretty little cloisonne no-name I bought off of eBay when I was in my rookie, buy-everything-in-sight phase. I don't know the brand, but it's obviously of Chinese manufacture, complete with a squeeze-bar converter. It has a white body, with white clouds outlined in gold paint and what appear to be cherry blossoms.

Aurora Ipsilon de Luxe, 14k nib, inked with Noodler's Legal Lapis. If I leave the pen uncapped for several minutes the feed dries, but a touch to the tongue gets it going without a problem.

Yeah, Esties can leak if they get jostled. It's part of the fun of vintage pens. Also, an Estie J can unscrew in your pocket and deposit ink all over your clothes. That happened to me a few weeks back, but my dry cleaner knows stains better than I know inks.

I've only recently become obsessed with fountain pens. I started out with a few different pens, but at the moment, I'm using two Lamy Safaris with medium nibs and a Pelikan Pelikano with medium nib at the office. I've got Waterman red in the Blue/Red Lamy, and Aurora Black in the Black Lamy. I filled the Pelikano with Noodler's La Couleur Royale. On the way, I've got a blue Lamy Safari that I hope to fill with a blue ink. For now, at least, I'm going to match the color to the pen in some way.

I have the Piccolo writer version of your pen, also with F nib--no criticisms! It's beautiful, I love the finish, the way it handles and writes. If you are used to very wet writers, you might feel a difference there. This is no problem for me, and find like many pens differences in flow based on different inks. The Platinum ink cartridge was for me on the wet side compared to many of my Noodler's inks. You'll love your pen!!
Today I'm using a champagne pink Decimo, F nib with PR Black Magic Blue, and a Yard-o-Led Retro BP with a Visconti black F gel refill. Happy writing!
