I never carry a rollerball or a gel pen or — heaven forbid — a ballpoint. I have become so thoroughly attached to my fountain pens that it’s really quite impossible to conceive of a time when I should ever again choose to use any pen other than a fountain pen. In fact, I go one step beyond the RealPens.com slogan; all of the pens that might find themselves in my pocket are vintage models, the youngest being a mid-1960s Sheaffer Lifetime Imperial.

I'm now carrying (in addition to the "51") a ballpoint for signing those %^@$#! thermal credit-card receipts that clog my fountain pens. But it's not just any ballpoint, it's an Eversharp CA that I have converted to use Parker refills, and I have a gel refill in it:
Ha! If you have to carry a ballpoint, THATS how you do it!

Very Nice.
I've got a Sheaffer Target/Imperial III today I bought as a lark, but it elbowed it's way into my main rotaion. New rotation; (Black Valiant Vac./Burgundy Valiant Snorkel/Blue Imperial III).

purpleish blue DaniTrio $27 tactical carry pen, M nib, Noodler's red-black
These will be the 2 pens in the rotation for the next week while I am on vacation in San Diego.
Hopefully, I'll have enough time with the tactical carry pen to be able to do a review when I get back.

Do you have the black one with the rhodium trim? I like the broad nib I have; it makes everything I write look a little bit more important.

And with a bit of silicone fluid on the threads, mine is now an eyedropper.

Yes, I have the Black OMAS cotton-resin Bologna. It's a really sharp looking pen. I have a fine tip nib, however. If I write with anything too broad, my writing becomes illegible.

2 pens in my desk at work:
Sailor 1911 black/rhodium trim F w/ Sailor Red
Pelikan M805 B w/ Noodler's Nightshade
2 pens on my desk at home:
Pelikan M400 tortoise F w/ Noodler's Green Marine
Pelikan M805 EF w/ Noodler's Blue-Black
2 pens in a pouch in my bag at all times:
Lamy 2000 EF w/ Noodler's Red-Black
VP black F w/ Namiki/Pilot Blue-Black
The inks have been changing, but this is what I've been using for about two months now. I find that any more than four pens inked at my disposal and I run the risk of (1) not getting through the ink in any one pen fast enough to suit me and (2) getting distracted from what I should be doing and playing with the pretty pens & inks. With the above 'system' my desk pens supplement the sturdy pair that wanders about with me all day. I'm fighting the urge to purchase a Danitrio Densho to slip in place of one of the M805s, but the array of nib options allows my indecisiveness to trump my aquisitiveness, keeping my pocketbook (and wife) happy.

In addition to my standard every-day Sheaffer, it's a BHR kind of day.
Sheaffer Lifetime Triumph Crest (1750 model),
Waterman #12 Eyedropper, dates 1905-1910.
Moore Non-Leakable Safety pen, 1917-?
JUCO Stylographic eyedropper - not sure of the date on this one, but I think it dates to the early 1900s.

I'm making a vow to use more of my pens rather than letting some of them languish in the case.
So today, dark red Estie (J?) with Squeteague for "normal" writing + sweet little plum-colored Parkette with Levenger's Pinkly for copyediting.
I need a nice three-pen case and a decent rollerball (maybe a Conklin Glider in Koi, I think that is such a pretty little pen), so I can always have a pen with dark ink, a pen with bright ink, and a rollerball as backup in case of, well, god knows what.

Hi Guys,
ive just found the forum and heres my first post!
the pens i use every day at work are as follows:
living permanently in my desk at work are: 3 parker jotters red, black and blue barrels with corresponding red, black and blue gel refills.
2 parker vector fountains with red and orange inks and 1 parker frontier filled with yellow ink. nothing special but my office hacks and nicer than the standard office issue bics.
travelling to and from work with me every day in my bag are 2 rolled gold converging lines capped parker 51 aeros, one blue-green, the other grey, with medium and broad nibs.
in my shirt pocket lives a mont blanc starwalker metrub ballpen and a new pilot capless retractable fountain pen which i picked up yesterday and am very happy with. the 14k nib is beautifully smooth and flexible.
i change pens constantly through the day depending on what colour i need and what sort of writing im doing. finer nibs for filling out forms, broader for scrawling quick notes when on the phone etc. or just having too many pens and looking for an excuse to use them
looking forward to exploring the forum!
cheers,
Paolo.
