Two "Cheapies But Goodies" today.

A brilliant green "snake skin" pattern Eberhard Faber Permapoint with Noodler's Zhivago and an Esterbrook CX-100 in "clear" with an Esterbrook cartridge refilled with a mixture of Waterman's Blue Black and Penmans Ruby making a dark purple.

I would never have believed that these lower end pens could have such smooth nibs.

A Deep Blue Sheaffer School Pen.

Last night just received a Pelikan Grande Place with a medium nib...think I'll be trying it out with some PR Lake Placid Blue today.

The last few days I have been using a Waterman C/F pen I bought Diane about 3 years ago. It had a problem and would not write for more then a minute or so, I think the feed was plugged, but I have been soaking it quite a bit lately and I think it is finally starting to work properly. I loaded it up with the new Dumas purple ink and it is still writing even days later. Still a bit of a dry writer, but it seems to be getting better with more use. Pretty soon Diane will have her pen back and hopefully writing the way it should.

She sure like the new ink, I maybe should have gotten a couple of bottles extra.

Tonight, I wrote up some lecture notes with my new OMAS Lucens Blue, filled with Stipula Deep Blue. I am a very happy camper. Best,

A Deep Blue Sheaffer School Pen.

The same as yesterday.

No time to take out any other.

Today is a Muji all aluminium, it is the Toyota of my pen world, cheap to buy, always works and does all that I ask but without the grace of others.

My backup is a Cross ATX in velvet green.

Both have my own dark grey ink with Cerrutti 1881 perfume.

My new dip-pen. I've been using this for all my domestic (stay-in-bedroom-sit-at-desk) based-writing. It's fun and it means my new inkwell is used regularly. I save my actual fountain pens for outside writing, or for more important stuff now.

My pen portfolio for today consists of my Montblanc 149 broad nib and Montblanc William Faulkner medium nib, both filled with Noodler's Saguaro Wine, and my Pelikan 1000 fine nib with Noodler's Blue and my Pelikan 800 with Noodler's Cayenne.

Inked up for work in the morning are my Pelikan 800 blue stripe with Diamine Mediterranean Blue, Conway Steward Amber Dandy with Mont Blanc Seasons Greetings Brown and Visconti Wall Street with Diamine Presidential Blue.

Today I carried 2 MB's a 146 inked with whatever is in my test bottle, blue quink I think, a 145 with MB scented brown and a PFM V in green with black ink, oh yea, and the matching pencil.

Today, I'm using my newly acquired Aurora Optima. It has a super smooth, wet cursive italic and is filled with Aurora Blue.

Pilot 723 Custom with FA nib & Pilot blue-black ink. I love this ink in this pen. Water-resistant, very low feathering (needed in a flex nib) and a non-green, great shading blue-black color.

I'm in the university library, so I'm using inexpensive and sturdy - Pelikan GO, one loaded with Mata Hari's Cordial, the other with Polar Turquoise (Lamy Turq + Noodler's Polar Blue).

Today, as most days until Christmas presents(!)...
A Regal fountain pen. It's the William model. I plan to do a review at some point on this terrific, very inexpensive (<$20) pen.

Today, and first time ever, a fake MB 149, and I am surprised that it writes so well. It is normally against all I hold dear to do so much there has been quite a lot of forum talk on fake MBs so i thought that it was about time that I tried this one out, given as a gift some years ago I might add.

EDIT I take it back, I have cursed this pen to hell and back, it switches from writing dry to spewing more ink than a very angry squid, my hands look like a Giant Pandas, it goes back in the box.

Cheap pens last 2 minutes, a good pen lasts two lifetimes!

My new Parker True Blue.

Given it a bash late last night, and after fears of some devilish quality control issue spoiling my fun I took the plunge and it writes very nicely. Middle of the road medium nib, wet if firm.

An Arbutus Harlequin that i got a few days back for $ 20.

M800 M800 M800 M800 and in that order.

A grey fine-nibbed Shaeffer Imperial and a 1940s fine-nibbed English Duofold AF in brown (the first vintage pen I bought).

Thats a lot of M800's for two hands to write with.

Ha! One pen I didn't use today was my m805. It was Parker 45, Parker 51 and Pel m215 in no order whatsoever.

c1930 Mabie Todd Swan Minor with a #1 flexible nib. This is my first desk use of it. It's loaded with Private Reserve Sherwood Green. And ... well the pen takes a very light and rapid touch to produce a wonderfuly colored line.

I'm using a Pelikano M these days mostly.

It a YOL kind of day! Yard-o-Led Viceroy and Diplomat are in the pocket today. Pen is appropriately filled with Diamine Mediterranean Blue.

Pelikan M200 in marbled blue with a luscious Binder Italifine nib. Today it's filled with FPN Tulipe Noire.

Also a few Pilot Pluminix for notes filled with Diamine Maroon, Diamine Emerald and Diamine Royal Blue.

A Marbled green Phileas Waterman with my own very black ink, havent used it for a while.

Even tho it has a medium nib it is noticably broader and wetter than my usual M Cross

Still got my Duofold AF, Sheaffer Imperial and Pilot Pluminix (yes, me too Casmi!) to hand at work.

But I have a fresh bottle of Caran d'Ache Storm sat on my desk with two cleaned Lamy Safari's ready to go when the last of my Waterman Blue-Black at work runs out (today?)
