This afternoon I am using my brand-new, still with the nib-size tag, Snorkel TM in burgundy that I just won on eBay. I have to use it by dipping, the sac needs replacing, but otherwise it is just about perfect, add in the price I got it for and it hits that point easily. $32, woohoo! Very smooth nib, medium, I would have preferred a fine but medium is quite usable since it is a bit on the finer side of medium.
I did disassemble most of it to check out the sac, it has hardened up enough to be very stiff, which on the air-pressure operated Snorkel pretty much puts the kibosh to it working. Still not too bad for a pen that has not been touched in something like 60 years.
The seller did not know much about pens, but gave lots of info and good pictures, after the win I found his communication to be very good, shipping was super fast, (and his wife packed it up probably as well as any I have received from all but the PENguin, whose package probably could have stood off a rampaging and PO’ed elephant).
neilbrosant gets a dozen thumbs up from me for his part in this auction.

Still running the M205, Binder 0.6 stub, filled with Diamine WES Blue - that ink in that nib is too wonderful to let go of. I'm scaring myself by considering making it a permanent companion.
Also, Lamy Vista, F, Penman Mocha - the ink doesn't seem to get on with this pen, too dry. But I'll give it a while to see how we go.
Finally, my new (today) Fermo with the Binder 0.6 stub I'd bought for it in preparation, filled with PR Black Magic Blue - sweet indeed

Having a Sailorish kind of day, maybe because it's cool and windy, and the ocean is not all that far away.
Sailor Professional Gear, B nib, Diamine Royal Blue, Sailor 1911 (black with rhodium trim), M nib, Diamine Presidential Blue, Sailor Sapporo, F nib, Waterman Blue Black. And in my pocket is a Sailor Sappor Mini, F nib, filled with a Sailor Blue Black cartridge. All of these pens are black; none of the inks is.

Today it's my Safari Al-Star, Extra Fine. The pen is a couple weeks old the the nib is really smoothing out. Both of the Extra Fine Safari nibs that I've had took a while to break in. But it's writing like a champ now, and I've been taking notes with it all day long.

Today I managed to forget my planner at the house so I used one of the three pens in my pocket along with my emergency spiral for taking meeting notes today. Today's pen of choice was a Diplomat "Graduation Day" pen that I picked up some years ago on closeout from Staples. It came with a wallet and a pencil as well. A nice writing medium nib filled with Parker Penman Ebony.
I also used my trusty Waterman steel nib fine that I picked up a few years ago from the Chicago Pen Show for $10. I have no idea what model it is as I don't think I was even told.

On Monday, I experienced a very strained day, when I foolishly walked out of the house with NO fountain pens in tow. I had that Linus-without-the-blanket feeling, and felt that I might need medical attention momentarily.

I somehow survived but it was ugly there for a while.
Since then I've wised up. My Enzo Varini, WM purple ink, is out and about with me, and my Royal Violet Carene guards things on the home front with a homemade peacock blue ink mix (not the one I made and posted with ferro gallic ink, but a washable version).

For me, it'll be a combo day. I'm planning to carry my Hero 237-1 in Slate Gray, loaded up with Pelikan Blue, as well as my blue Kasuri Vanishing Point with "Lively Green" and a Richard Binder 0.6mm stub nib. Good stuff!

Yesterday was my Monday, beginning of the week, so I carried my Pelikan 800 and from the mail box I picked up a package from The Pen Den. Once at work I opened the package and found my PAN ink ball pens. Inked one up with Noodler’s Polar Black and had a bit of something different to write with.
Nice little ink pen, the PAN, I am rather surprised at how nicely it wrote.
When I got home this morning Diane relieved me of one of the PAN’s, I think she liked it even more than I do. Good thing I ordered a few extras.

I tucked my Delta Dolce Vita OS with the Binderized nib into my shirt pocket. It had no ink, as I was waiting to get to the office to see what struck my fancy. In the back of the drawer was a bottle of Omas Roma 2000 blue ink. Loaded it up just about the time I got the call that the 350 fundraising letters were ready for signature.
They're all done, looking sharp, without a skip or a blob. Time to reload.

Was using my bright red Pilot Capless to take notes on articles about adherence to pharmaceutical regimens for pediatric sufferers. (Don't ask how I got roped into doing this review of literature in an area I know nothing about!) Then the mail came with my brand new Binder Taccia Staccato LE. So I inked it up with Herbin Poussiere de Lune and wrote a letter. Wow, is that pen gorgeous. And big. And just heavy enough to let me know I'm using a serious fountain pen.

Writes nicely so far. I'll have a better sense of it as a writer after I've written a bit more with it.

So my "Colection" now consists of:
- A Lamy 81
the one I learned to write, as rolerballs or pncils were prohibited in primary school in the late 50's in Austria.
I still like it a lot, and think to inherit it to my son "with warm hands" soon. - Next I got a MontBlanc Masterpiece when I finished school 1970, and never liked it, as it never ever wrote properly.

I had it repaired by MontBlanc in the 80's (barrel replaced, don't ask me why, because this never made problems, and the "new" one with the striped window I never liked), and it still didn't write properly, so it spent another 25 Years in the drawer, until 5 weeks ago I carried it to MontBlanc again, and in the moment it's in Hamburg for repair. - A year ago I got a Pelikan Level 5
which writes very hard, and You can't clean it, or change the ink-color, as there's no way to empty it. But never the less it made me want to write with fountain pen again. - A month ago I ebayed a Pilot 78G with the italic B nib, as I wanted to try an italic without spending too much money, which now I like a lot, but it was a love on the second glance, as it was very scratchy at the biginning.
- And the last one I got is a great great Parker 61
Aerometric type, which immediately became my favorit
.
- In between I purchased a Cross Matrix, as I think this to be so funny with its Fountain-pen and double Rolerball-mines in one piece, even with a touch-screen nib on the rear of the fountain-pen part.
But unfortunately
this thing fascinated my daughter in law so much, that I gave it to her just after a week. And she just loves it. As there exists also a Gel-writer part (which you can exchange with the fountain pen) I mailed to Cross to ask where to get one, and they sent me one for free! Which I think to be very generous, and worh to remark it here!
Finaly (for the moment and without any hurry) I think about a
Sheaffer PFM snorkel,

, as I like the look of the inlayed Nib, and am interested in the snorkel technik.

Todays pen is a no-name c1935 cheapie. It is black with two red jewels. It writes wet with a medium nib that is a touch toothy on some papers. Curiously on "Ampad" legal pad it is very smooth. I'm using my favorite Waterman Blue/Black ink. In terms of comparing it to current production, that is a tough because the nib is softer and far less needle-like than contemporary low end stuff.

I am using a beautiful pen made by Diamond Point for RH Macy & Co - it is a deep red color with silver grey slash marks in the plastic. I am also using an inexpensive Fineline (it is red also) that has the inscription" Carlson Brothers Inc, Sheaffer Service Pen". Both of these pens write very nicely.

I carry these in my purse so I prefer not to carry really expensive pens for fear of losing them.

Good to see that someone out there besides me enjoys writing with non-famous, lower end pens. I have my share of lovely and expensive new and vintage pens, but I truly have some no-name pens that write very nicely and I don't have to be as concerned about losing them or damaging them when I am out and about.
