Good morning Taki, artaddict and all the rest of you guys.
It is 59F and , going to the upper 80s.
Today I am using my Dragon pen made by none other then OldGriz himself, stub nib and PR Dakota Red.
Taki
Good morning, JD, Pep and all! We had a good rain fall during the night thumbup.gif Currently 66F and the high will be 83F.

Here's my current rotation, but might not be using them much as much as I have things on my to-do list crybaby.gif I guess I go to have a cup of extra strong coffee to give myself a jump start.
  • Aurora Optima, Italic nib (Noodler's Marine Green)
  • Pelikan M250, Pendemonium 0.5mm CI (Noodler's Apache Sunset)
  • Sailor Professional Gear Morita Original, F nib (PR Tropical Blue)
artaddict
Good morning Taki, JD, and all!

A cool morning. This thread is a nice start to the day!

Will probably keep using the Waterman#3 with Quink.

I already had my coffee but I think I need more...
Taki
Good morning, JD, Pep and everyone. 64F and clear day. High will be in mid 80's.

Today I'll be using my baby blue Sailor with PYr Tropical Blue cloud9.gif

dwmatteson
'Morning, all! Today's staff meeting day. headsmack.gif

I'll be working on writing dry my Lamy 2000 "fine" nib with Sailor Jentle Blue (love that ink!) and my FPN LE medium steel stub with Noodler's Apache Sunset (another great ink). Should make the staff meeting go by a little faster. smile.gif

An Esterbrook J in Copper and a Parker "51" Special (though it's wanting to skip on me)
OboeJuan
Good afternoon. Pilot Knight (black) filled with Lamy Black ink, Caran d'Ache Ecridor Retro with Lamy black and MB 149 filled with 1/2 CDA Sunset and 1/2 J. Herbin Orange Indian mix. Very stunning.

Waterman Hemisphere in marbled green lacquer finish, medium nib and Noodler's Zhivago ink. I have two Hemispheres. They are very reliable and affordable.
jd50ae
Good evening Taki, Pep and everyone else, got a very late start today.
91F and no rain.
Got a package from speerbob today. Picked out the Pilot Crystals and will be checking them out.
artaddict
Good evening Taki, JD, & all,

Today I bought a Sheaffer Calligraphy set at the art store - one black pen body (with white dot!) and three nibs (F, M, B ) cool.gif.
I like the Sheaffer italic pens because of their generous ink flow.

I used the fine nib today with a black Sheaffer cartridge.
Mescof1
1. Sailor International 1911 from Mottishaw, medium nib, Sailor Blue Ink.

2. Parker Duofold Centennial, fine nib, adjusted by Binder, Aurora Black,

3. Waterman Phileas, medium nib, Quink Black.

Today was a busy writing day, so I used my 1945 Parker "51" in sterling silver and Cedar Blue with Noodler's Red for numbers, my Bexley Poseidon in tortoise with Waterman Havana Brown for notes, and my Waterman Edson Diamond Black with Waterman South Sea Blue for signatures.

I'm also using my Pelikan 1000 Souveraen with Noodler's Purple for writing in my journal tonight...
grasshopper
I decided to ink up my FPN LE yesterday, filling it with Waterman SSB, to add to the grey Decimo and the navy-grey Aero 51.

And a jolly good morning Taki and pep (may I call you pep) and all of you returning from your exercises.
69F, going into the 90s and not a chance of rain.
Today it is my three perfect Pelikans.
Taki
Good morning JD, Pep and everyone.

The Sailor and Pel m250 with Apache Sonset today.

Pep, is the calligraphy set a vintage? Do I see a review coming soon? smile.gif
artaddict
Good morning Taki, JD, and everyone!

Too early to pick but I'm guessing the Sheaffer Calligraphy FP.

Taki, nope, it's not vintage - I think it just came out and someone has reviewed it!
dwmatteson
Good morning everyone! It's a comfy 66 degrees in Buffalo, with a high of 82 coming our way. Today I'm off to do some site visits, so I need a couple of good reliable writers. I've chosen:

Yellow fine-medium nibbed Sailor 1911 with Aurora Black and
1946 (fourth quarter) Toronto manufacture fine nibbed cedar blue Parker "51" vacumatic with lustraloy cap and PR Black Magic Blue (I think that's what I put in there, anyway).

Don

Two pens in use today: a Grey Esterbrook J with a 2284 nib and PR lake Placid Blue and a Sheaffer Roseglow OS Balance with a medium nib and Waterman Black

Ernst Bitterman
After a couple of days with LOWS of 30C (86ish F), the weather has moderated, and celebrational whimsy dictates I take my Waterman 12 to work today.
gregkoos
Swan Leverless with a #2 nib filled with Waterman's Blue/Black. I recently purchased this c1940 pen from Ross McKinney. He is correct in writting that these semi-flexible nibs are a great fun. I can't wait for a Waterman that is soon to be in my paw!
missclimpson
At work I use an Esterbrook desk pen with a 9556 nib. I like the feel of it in my hand and the balance. I carry another Esterbrook with a 2556 nib in my purse. At home I mostly use a Sheaffer with a fine gold nib. My favorite ink right now is Duke blue black. I recently purchased a Duke Complete Esteem, but I don't like it very much. The cap won't stay posted and the ink flow doesn't seem right. It keeps skipping. I guess I'll have to work with it for a while. Maybe a different ink.
Morse
1. Parker 45 M nib - 1960's US production, inked with Waterman's black
2. Sailor Sapporo F nib, inked with Noodler's black "eel" ink
3. Sailor 1911 EF nib, inked with Noodler's black "eel" ink
4. Conway Stewart 479 broad italic nib, inked with Waterman's Havana Brown
jd50ae
Good morning Taki and Pep and Kcat.
73F, AC never stopped running during the night and it is going into the 90s with no rain.
Today is formal and important writing day and my VP has the best nib for that. Pilot black ink is called for.

I'm also using my Pelikan 1000 Souveraen with Noodler's Purple for writing in my journal tonight...

How is the South Sea Blue? I have some cartridges of it waiting in the wings, but I was thinking it would be too light or bright to be comfortably legible. My daughter currently has pink in her fountain pen and it makes me cross-eyed wacko.gif

As if I haven't trumpeted it in twelve other threads (ignore this if you've seen me trumpeting)...using new Waterman Carčne in royal purple, with the standard blue cartridge that came in the box. The blue is boring, so I need to write lots of things to use it up. Oh darn it, I've got a second one in there too.
Taki
Good morning, JD, Pep, KCat sm_cat.gif We had thunderstorms go through during the night clap1.gif It's 70F and high will be 86F, probably humid.

Well my mom-in-law is here and I probably won't be using pens much. If I did, my Sailor with PR Tropical Blue again.
coco
Morning, everyone! Today I'm using the Visconti Van Gogh midi (musk) filled with Noodler's Cayenne (this combination has made it my use-everyday pen this past week). Backup: M400 Tortoise filled with Diamine Orange.
Pengrump
A mugy day in Beantown. It's 80 degrees Fahrenheit right now, going up and up. If we hit 90, it's an official heatwave, i.e., three days in a row, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.*

Today I'm off to hear a reading by Jasper Fforde. I have my gray Parker 51 Demi filled with Aurora Black in my bag, along with Platinum Stainless Armor with a generic international cartridge in it since I wanted to try out the adapter that came with it. When I return home, I'll write a bit with my Ban-ei, now loaded with Diamine Prussian Blue, and my Pilot Bamboo with MB Racing Green.

*It happened. It's 90 degrees out, and we have a genuine Boston heatwave. I'm considering a new pen to celebrate, if "celebrate" is the right word. What do you think?

(Edited to add correction of inaccurate assumption.)
French
In central Connecticut we're sharing the same weather as Beantown, muggy and hot. Tonight's karate class should be 'fun'...our Shihan doesn't believe in air conditioning.

pens I'm using:
on the desk = Platinum Belage in red, 14k fine nib, filled with Waterman's South Seas Blue
in the piquadro= Hero 100 flighter, 14K XF nib, filled with Noodler's Lexington Grey
Bexley FPN LE, steel F nib, filled wiht Noodler's Gulfstream Blue
in the planner = WingSung 237, brown celluolid, steel XF nib, Noodler's FPN LE Galileo Brown

Good morning, everyone. I'm at a client's office in Manhattan, so I'm using the "business set":
Black Pelikan m800 (gold trim)
Black Visconti Wall Street
Black carbonesque Namiki VP (backup pen)
In case I need an MP, I have a Parker Ellipse, circa 1988, black with gold trim

Hello Taki, JD, and everyone!

Goin' on a road trip today to see Tim's folks in Ohio.

Thinking about which pen to bring...probably the Sheaffer Feathertouch with Luxury Blue - an all around pen.

Pep

Good afternoon, all. It's raining here in Buffalo, but it's a comfortable 70 degrees.

I spent the morning putting my newly-acquired tortoise Danitrio Cum Laude through its paces with a converter full of PR Black Magic Blues. I'll be working through the afternoon and into the evening with a green Esterbrook J filled with Diamine Prussian Blue.

Don

Today I am trying out a Sensa. I wanted to get the feel. The writing wasn't as smooth as I would have liked.
artaddict
Well, we are now in Bowling Green, Ohio, visiting Tim's parents.

I brought with me a Sheaffer Calligraphy pen with Fine nib, and a Waterman Ideal #3 with a flexy nib smile.gif

South Sea Blue is a very bright blue-not as dark as Noodler's Navajo Turquoise-but it is very legible and I think easy on the eyes. I've missed Sheaffer's Peacock Blue since they stopped producing it, since I used it in high school and college, and I think this is a slight match for it, but lighter.

Morning Taki and Pep and who ever else is awake.
Puppy alarm clock.
In the upper 70s and goin for the 90s. No rain.
All metal XEZO Airman today. Figure it is a good one for writing nasty grams to the local government.
dwmatteson
Good morning JD, Taki, Pep, et al.! It's 71 in Buffalo with a projected high in the low 80s. It's threatening to rain, but so far nothing.

So far I've just done some journaling with my medium nib green-stripe Pelikan M600 with PR Black Magic Blues. No telling what pens I'll be using later today, though!

Don

Good morning Taki, JD, Don, and everyone!

JD, of course you can call me Pep!

Don, I thought of you as we drove past Buffalo yesterday. I got my MA from SUNY Buffalo...

Taki, you're in Iowa right? We lived in Iowa City for 4 years. Tim got his PhD from there.

Anyway, here I am in Ohio. I've only got the two pens with me - Sheaffer Calligraphy Classis & Waterman Ideal #3, both with black ink.
Taki
Good morning, JD, Pep, Don, KCat and every one! It's 71F and the high will be 87 today.

Pep, yes I live in Iowa. My husband and I met in U of I in 1990 and though I did not live in Iowa City but I spent a lot of time there. You would be surprised how it's growing!!

Need to catch up my journal today with the Sailor!

Hi, Taki! We visited Iowa City last November - that's when Tim defended his dissertation. I still miss it.

Oh, OK, so you lived there fairly recently! When I was there Coral Ridge Mall was a corn field smile.gif We would have liked living there, but because of our work we have to ge in central IA. So we compromised and live in Ames, where Iowa State University is. We looked into living in Grinell (another college town) but we could not afford a decent house there at that time.

Yup, we were there 2001-2005. I often went to Coral Ridge mall.
But but isn't ISU the rival of UI? Go Hawkeyes! roflmho.gif

Rainy day, here. At least the weekend was beautiful.

Pilot Custom743 with FA nib running Pilot blue-black ink.
Pelikan M605 with a Deb K.'ed fine nib running a 10:10:1 mix of Pilot Blue/Levenger Cobalt/Noodlers Black.
1949 Parker '51' with a fine nib running Noodlers reb-black.
Platinum 3776 with a medium nib running Waterman purple.
Moore 84 with a medium oblique maniflex nib running PR Chocolat.
Taki
Good morning, JD, Pep, Don, Lloyd, et al. It's 69F, beautiful day. It's going to get hot, though.

Pep, we have no interest in sports (I still don't understand football after living in the U.S. more than a decade) so it does not really matter, but I got a few comments (well, jokingly) when I took my son out in a Hawkeye outfit when he was a baby laugh.gif

Sorry it's so boring but I'm using the Sailor with PR Tropical Blue again. Eventually I might get a regular Sapporo Mini so that I can use other ink.
dwmatteson
Good morning Pep, Taki, Ali, Lloyd, JD, and all others (this is starting to sound like the end of an episode of The Waltons smile.gif ). Upper 60s now with a high expected in the mid-80s. No signs of rain.

My rotation has turned over almost completely, since I've been doing a lot of research stuff for work and writing notes like crazy.

On my person in the two-pen case are:
Pelikan 400NN green stripe with KM nib and Waterman Florida Blue
Parker "51" vacumatic in cedar blue with fine nib and Sailor Jentle Blue

In my briefcase in the three-pen case are:
Danitrio Tac Carry II in yellow with Deb Kinney stub nib and PR DC Supershow Blue
Conway Stewart Shorthand in red herringbone with medium nib and Waterman Blue-Black
Esterbrook J in green with a 9668 nib and Diamine Prussian Blue.

I guess I'm in a blue-ink mood this week.

I inadvertently brought way too much with me on this week's business trip. This week's weapons at hand are the following.

Cross Solo XF: Montblanc Blue
Parker 51 Vac XF: Pelikan Blue
Parker Duofold Jr. Streamlined Flexi-XF: Montblanc British Racing Green
Bexley Simplicity F: Skrip Black
Lamy 2K XXF (JC-grind): Montblanc British Racing Green
Vanishing Point F: Vintage Skrip Emerald
Pelikan Franken-120/M2xx/M4xx (old style) M: Pelikan Brilliant Brown
Kooh-I-Noor Rapidograph 0: Pelikan Blue

Good grief...that's a lot of weapons. Better do some mass destructing of one sort or another.

Hoping to identify some, review others, etc.
