Good morning, JD and allwho are up. It's 66F and will go upto mid 80's today. The color of the sky is amazjng this morning-mixture of purple, pink, and orange lighted by the sun just below the horizon.

Pilot Capless Orange with blue-black cartridge
Pelikan M400 White Tortoise with Caran d'Ache Storm for fun.
jd50ae
Good morning Taki and anyone else tht has to be up early in the morning.
65F and it will go up, a few clouds and there is always a chance of a thunder bumper.

Today my lead pen is a white MOP XEZO w/18ct nib and PR DC Supershow Blue.
This is a beautiful pen and it is better made then most pens out there. It is a shame that XEZO is not more appreciated.

Heading on the road today and tomorrow for business. Only toting two pens with me:

1) Bexley Fun Time; Grape Cooler with Fine Nib; Waterman Florida Blue ink
2) Parker "51" special; Dove Gray with Fine-Medium Nib; Noodler's Black ink

Today it's a sweet '46 Parker '51' dove gray, stacked coin cap blue diamond clip with a recently smoothed fine-medium nib using Binder Blurple.

I tested my Blurple against some cartridge PR Tanzanite and found my mix to be too purple. I tried to go 50/50 on my Waterman Florida Blue / Purple but it looks like I got a little heavy on the Purple. I mixed in a little more Blue and it looks perfect!!!

So, added to my usage today is my favorite Desk Pen a beautiful Parker Vacumatic Golden Pearl blue diamond with striped tail to test out the revised Binder Blurple. I forgot how nice this pen writes!

I've been using this Pelikan 400 all week. It has a sweet semi-flex Fine nib, and it's pretty easy on the eyes.

Of course, my Pilot Custom 823 is also loaded and on my hip.

Pelikan M205 clear demonstrator with a Binder full flex super needle point nib, loaded with Legal Lapis.

Don't suppose you have a writing sample from that needle-flex nib? I love Binder's flex nibs, but I've only ever tried a standard Fine.

Hero 336. I've been wanting a fine nib and I really got a fine nib with this pen. thumbup.gif

Good morning, JD. It's 65F and going to be a hot day again. We need rain but does not look like till Monday sad.gif

Good morning Taki, looks like we are stuck in a weather rut. We need some serious rain.
If for no other reason then to drown the mice, they are everywhere and in huge numbers.

Today my lead pen is another much underrated and little known XEZO LE.

Here you go.

It puts down such a fine line that it accentuates small errors in writing, like not exactly retracing the up and down stroke on a lowercase "d", which is usually hidden by the nib width.

Pictured also is today's writer, a extra fine CS Nelson load with Smythson's royal blue ink.

Today I am using my newest toy: a Black Checked Tac Carry III, medium nib, Noodlers la coleur royale. In a word, magnificent. Winedoc told me this will probably be the last batch, as a major international manufacturer wanted to take over building this pen from Danitrio, probably as a roller ball, and likely would not allow him to continue selling the fountain pens. If you don't have one yet, run, do not walk, to get one!

I also am using my Wality 71 black, fine nib, LCR, and my Wality 69LFB medium with Skrip BB. I tried out my new Sheaffer unknown model which I got from eBay yesterday, with a black skrip cartridge, medium nib. Works fine, and looks kind of 60's retro. I like it and the accompanying mechanical pencil.

Good morning Taki, really great coffee this am.
62F and going to be in the 90s with no relief in sight.

Going fountain penless(?) today and will I attempt legible with no splatters dip pen history.
Taki
Good morning, JD!! You beat me to it smile.gif I had very good coffee, too.

Same pens as yesterday. I had forgotten how nice Intrigue's F nib writes. I got it at very good price from Pen Hero, wish I had gotten another.
sclt45
Waterman 52, red ripple.

Today it's a Lamy Al-Star F nib with PR Orange Crush.
The Lamy always writes well on most paper (apart from Moleskines, but let's not go there!) and the orange crush ink produces wonderful shades that make the writing look like flames.

MB 145 XF loaded with Noodler's Nightshade and a blue carbonesque F loaded with MB holiday's ink.

Good morning, JD and all who are up alaready. No rain sad.gif

Another day at work, but at least it's Firday. Same pens as yesterday. Like the pens and
the inks.
jd50ae
Gosh darn Taki I thought it was Wednsday. I gotta beat feet to the phone company before they disconnect me.
I'm back, that was close.
Good morning Taki, it is very nice and sunny out. It will change dry.gif

Today is Dragon Friday.
Chemyst
Lamy Vista Safari fine nib loaded with J. Herbin's Poussiere de Lune.
Tom L
Bexley Watley Sr (aka Father of Watley) in my pocket. Campbell's vegetable soup color celluloid, broad nib, Noodler's Army Green ink.

In the 4 pen case are Dani-Trio raw ebonite, Laban Mento in a green & brown marbled color (not shown in their catalog online so I don't know it's name) with some brown ink, a Michael's Fat Boy fountain pen and roller both in Levenger's special copper color.

First day in ages without my Binder Pharaoh and I'm going through withdrawal.

Today it's:

A sweet '46 Parker '51' dove gray, stacked coin cap blue diamond clip with a recently smoothed fine-medium nib using Binder Blurple.

Parker Black and Pearl Duofold Streamline Jr, '30 with Sheaffer Skrip Black

Pelikan 400 Soverign blue stripe with Parker Penman Sapphire
jd50ae
Good morning Taki. 67F and no rain again, we need it so bad.
It's Saturday and making a decision about which pen to use is too much work.
What ever pen leaps to my hand gets the nod today.
Back to the coffee and doing nothing.
pakmanpony
A simple brown Esterbrook J with a signature stub nib (thanks JD) and Private Reserve Black Cherry ink.

Waterman Carene Amber Shimmer with Waterman Florida Blue.

Conklin Endura Sr Black and Bronze with De Atramentis Vanilla ink
jd50ae
Good morning Taki, I hope you slept well and the coffee is superior.
64F and no chance of rain until tomorrow. We are in the middle of a serious drought and the farmers need relief soon.

Today is an all M800 day.
jimg
Blue and black marbled 1930s Esterbrook "Relief' with a CS#5 nib and Noodler's Polar Blue. Willing to put up with the atomic nib creep for the cool colour.

Dove grey Esterbrook "J" with medium flex 9788 nib.

Dangerous looking Platinum #3776 "Writers' Edition Samurai" with a medium nib.

The last two using daggy old blue Quink.

Hi All!

Just for fun, I thought I'd list what FPs I'm using at work today:

Purple Argentine Parker 51, with the Purple Sheaffer Quink which matches it.
Maroon Parker 65, with I think a Noodler's Rose ink, this pen has a lovely stub nib.
Gunmetal Grey Waterman Liason (?) with a generic blue international cartridge. A good workhorse pen with a nice gold nib.
My first "real" FP: A Cross pen (not sure what model), black with gold trim and nib - a present from my Dad. Blue cross cartridge - boring ink but I need at least one pen with blue or black ink for filling out Vacation requests!
A Purple Sheaffer Calligraphy pen with a smoothed medium calligraphy nib.
A RoseGlow Sheaffer Triumph with some Rose-colored ink.
A THINK pen in the Fuschia-Pink-Green color - my Xmas present.
An Omas demonstrator pen with Herbin Gris Nuage ink - this is such a wet writer that I can actually use this gray ink in it.
An Esterbrook with a Signature nib.

I like to have a lot of pens inked up with different colored inks and nibs!

Bye for now,

Erica

Johnson
1. Bexley Americana in Sanibel Blue, M Nib, PR American Blue - this has become one of my go to pen and ink combinations.

2. Parker 51, black with Sterling cap, binderized F nib, Aurora Black - this has ALSO become one of my go to pens. Its a true F nib, but with the smoothness of a glassy B. Truly a remarkable writing instrument.

3. Pelikan M400, red stripe, F nib, Aurora black - cause it ain't a day without a bird.

Using my latest acquisition - a Pilot Prera, Ivory, fine point - amazingly smooth, better than 78G, elegant design. Inked with Black Cherry with a touch of Saguaro Wine & Tanzanite... biggrin.gif

Hi Taki!

That ink recipe sounds great - I have all those inks...I think I have every red, pink and purple ink they've made!

I was looking at that Pilot Prera. I was thinking of getting one in either baby blue or coral. Where did you buy it?

Erica

Lloyd
Pilot 743 with FA nib. I'm finishing up a load of Pilot Blue-Black and plan to switch to PR Chocolat later today.
Estie J with a mix: Namiki Blue/Levenger Cobalt/Noodlers Black in a 10-10-1 ratio.
1949 Burgundy shelled 'P51' with Noodlers Red-Black.

Welcome to FPN, Erica! I have Vivid Pink (coral?) and Lime Green, and now I have Levenger Pinkly in Lime. Vivid pink is very deep and reddish pink, but no orange cast. It is not "shocking pink" as it appears on some websites. On my monitor the photo on Pilot site looks very close to the actual color. I am thinking about getting Ivory and baby blue ones eventually smile.gif I bought it from a Japanese online store and had it sent to my parents', and when they had something to send to me it took a ride with it. You can get it from Ujuku Shop in Japan or jpens.com. I know the owner of Ujuku and he is very trustworthy. I've never bought from Jpens myself, but haven't heard any complaints so far. I guess if you are buying just one pen jpens is cheaper, but if you want colors they don't have and going to buy more than one Ujuku is not bad. Shipping from Ujuku is probably $12 or so.

Good morning, JD and everyone! It's 56F and high will be in mid 80's. Will be a good day to take my son to the pool smile.gif

I'm not sure if I actually get to use pens today but thinking about filling my Vivid Pink Prera with PR Midnight Blues to carry in my purse.

Also silver/chrome Namiki VP with PR Fiesta Red.

Got to flush out some pens...too may pens inked tongue.gif

Good morning Taki & JD!

May I chime in?

Here in upstate New York a cold front is cooling us off after a hot humid day yesterday.

I've got my Sapporo loaded with Brown Skrip today.

Thanks for the welcoming message, Taki!
I actually use several pens a day, with various inks.
But this is the first time I've put a color in the Sapporo.
This Sapporo & the Pilot Prera are keepers!

Pep, What is the nib size on your Sapporo, and how does it compare to your Prera (IIRC, it's an Ivory F, right?)? Is your Sapporo a full-size one?
HLeopold
Today I am using my Pelikan 140 with Noodler’s Black and for a change in pace I am including my Ivory Waterman Charleston with Noodler’s Fox Red.

I “do” have some fairly modern pens, though to be honest I prefer the older pens more. I like the Fox Red, but it just does not seem to go with most of my older pens, so why not in a new one?

Good Afternoon,

Today, I am using the following pens:

Parker Burgundy Maxima filled with Waterman South Seas Blue
Bexley 51 Mottled HR filled with Parker Quink Blue-Black

Taki,
I have the regular size Sapporo with fine nib, which seems broader than the Prera F (yup, Ivory), maybe because it's wetter...

Hi all,
Just got a Pilot Prera from Jpens in the mail. Filled it with Rotring Ultramarine Blue, an ink I stocked up just after it went out of production. Jpens had the Prera only in royal blue when I ordered, but now I look at the website and it's available in a couple of other colors, including ivory. May have to buy another… thumbup.gif Nice little pen. Jpens was quick. I ordered the pen Sunday, they sent it Monday, and it got here today. Of course, they're in Nashua and I'm in Boston, so it doesn't take long.

Besides the Prera, I'm using my Ban-ei today (filled with PR Tropical Blue) and my trusty vintage Aurora 88 with Aurora Blue. Today is rainy, so I'm tending toward the blues.
lalindsay225
Hello all,

Today, I am using a blue Wality #52, medium point, loaded with Noodler's Ottoman Azure. Best $12 I've spent in a while -- $6 for the pen through isellpens.com, and $6 for the ink at Chuck Swisher's table at the Raleigh Pen Show. biggrin.gif The Wality writes well, the Azure feathers a teensy bit when I take notes, but I think that's probably due to my cheap loose-leaf paper. This thread is fun!

Lisa

PS It's 76 degrees here in Raleigh, a nice change from the 90s of yesterday. It's been raining off and on, no doubt that's cooled things off a little.
