Hello all,
I know many consider the Rotring Core a hideous pen, but I have been using it to take notes this week in several rapid-fire marathon summer class sessions, and it has performed well. It reminds me of the athletic shoes that supposedly inspired its design: not stylish, but comfortable and goes well with jeans and a backpack. And I only paid $10 for it! I have the Technor finish with the XS nib, which I think equals a fine point. It's loaded with Pelikan Turquoise.

I broke down this week and took my Hundred Year Pens out of the Piquadro. In their place, I'm carrying
The Pharaoh.
And I have Djehuty to thank for this rendering of my profession into hieroglyphics:

(Since the Egyptians didn't use pens, this means "Craftsman of Reeds." It worke for me -- thanks, Djehuty!)

One just out of the rotation: my Omas 360 Magnum, that was loaded with my fifty-fifty mix of Montblanc Red and Sheaffer's King's Gold (that renders an excellent and well-behaved orange). I wrote a very long letter that exhausted a full load of this pen.
The envelope was addressed with my Pelikan M200 Anthracite, that writes with a Pendemonium stub nib and another fifty-fifty mix: Omas Violet and Waterman Florida Blue. It produces a very beautiful Royal Blue.
The third pen in use is my Bexley Tuck-Away in cracked ice pattern and stub nib, loaded with a Montblanc turquoise cartridge. The combination of orange and this color on the same page was stunning.
Have a nice Sunday!

Enjoyed seeing Djehuty's hieroglyphics for Richard's profession. Liked the Pharoh pen, too. Beautiful.

Well, here are the "usual suspects" for me:
Home (desk): Sheaffer PFM V (burgandy, m-f nib) (newest addition).
Work (desk): Sheaffer Snorkel desk pen (black, F5 triumph nib) in a black onyx Sheaffer stand.
Work (pocket): Sheaffer Snorkel (aqua, F5 triumph nib).
All have either Aurora blue or black ink (depending on my mood).
Not fountain pens, but related:
mechanical pencil: Pentel Kerry (black, 0.7mm) (the absolute best mechanical pencil)
el-cheapo pen for when people ask "can I borrow a pen": (currently) ball-point pen from "Bear Metallurgical Company" (red, medium?)

This week, I am using a Reform Calligraph with a fine nib, loaded with Noodler's Pendemonium Special Edition Route 66 Blacktop Black. Today, I may have been taking many pages of notes in a crowded, stuffy classroom, but my mind was cruising a summer highway with the windows down and the B-52s in the CD player.

While at my keyboard, have a Estie 444 Dip-less well; the holder has a 9668 Firm Medium nib installed. Ink is MB Black (hey, I gotta use the crap up somehow and it is useless in FPs as such.)
Hmmm...don't have anything else inked up at the moment...but I got the Pel Level 5 (14K nib) and Sheaf Intrigue Silken Bark from Nikko this week. The Pel is gonna be fun--the 50ml bottle is empty and I can fill'er with whatever I want...and I may just want Midnight Blues...
Bill...amazed I don't have more pens ready to go...

1.Early 1970s Pelikano running on Waterman's blue/black - a real surprise, smooth and faultless writing in what was meant to be a "school" pen.
2. Black and gold PFM V with medium nib using some sort of Noodler's blue (label came off the bottle).
3. Modern Aurora 88 filled with blue black quink.
I like number 2 because its such a cool design.
I am using the 88 because although it doesn't skip any more it has in the past and I want to learn to trust it. I have a range of the early 88s ( 88, 88K and 88P and "Magic Reservoir") and I really want to convince myself that the modern Auroras are as good as the vintage ones.

Today I intended to start out with my new Danitrino Mikado in raw ebonite and then to move to a Aurora 88P vintage but in the end I have just stayed with the Mikado.
Its the biggest fattest pen I have ever held and it just goes and goes. About 15 A4 pages by my count and no sign of needing a refill.
