No photos... too much effort atm. Today's stars were:
  • Aurora Optima Mini - XF Stub nib (Greg Minuskin), Noodler's Red Black.
  • Sailor Sapporo Mini - EF nib, Noodler's Apache Sunset.
  • Esterbrook J - 2550 nib, Rohrer & Klingner Morinda.

Off today...probably won't using pens much. Maybe Orange Capless with Ambre and decimo with Arabian Rose.

I made extensive use of my Montblanc Meisterstuck 145 this evening. I wrote 3.5 pages of fresh story-notes today, and onece again, my Montblanc ran out of ink halfway through!...I think I should get a drop-tube put into that pen to give it a constant supply of ink. This is the second time in a WEEK that that pen has gone from completely full to completely empty in just a couple of hours....

What size NIB does your pen have. I have 2 145's, a M and B both need to be refilled after a couple of pages. Very juicy pens. I also have 2 146's with F and EF's and they last much longer without refill although they are plunger pens and hold more ink.

Hello.

My MB is a Montblanc Meisterstuck fountain pen - 145. It has a FINE nib. I specifically searched everywhere for a FINE nib, and I would not buy anything broader than that. My particular pen comes with a piston-converter, and I'll say now that it practically DRINKS ink like an Irishman drinks whiskey. I started writing more story-notes for a new story last night. I've done six pages, and the pen is already just-shy of being half-full. I didn't fill the pen specifically for this batch of writing though.

I checked the pen before I started notes on my new story, it was at least 4/5 full. Now it's half-full, and it's only been 24 hours and six pages of writing.

You can see my pen below, in my signature. Montblanc Meisterstuck 145 fountain pen.

Good morning, JD and everyone. It's 67F already and high will be in mid 70's.

Work day, Lime Green Prera with Tanz/GB/MB mix and decimo with Arabian Rose.
jd50ae
Good morning Taki, hope all is well with you and yours.
Wow, did I sleep late or what? 07:35AM and it is 68F inside and out.
I think today I'll pick up my SQUID.
jirish1957
Today it's the green PFM 4 and the grey Parker 61. I got the PFM back from Richard Binder recently- he fixed the leak around the inlay. The 61 has developed a small hairline crack at the end of the nib which is resulting in inky fingers, but I want to run as much ink out of it as I can before I flush it and get it fixed...

Happy May Day, all FPNErs,

I'm using some new ink I just picked up: Diamine Sapphire in my new Pelikan 215. M nib, and Caran D'Ache Storm in my old Pilot Sterling Hawk, B nib. I also have a Dani Trio Ban-ei filled with Sailor Black that I used this morning, but it's napping now.

It has finally warmed and cleared up here. But tomorrow it will rain again and cool into the fifties for a high. bunny01.gif

Today is Binder Mania day for me! Just got two Biderized specialty nibs in from Richard last night and fitted them in my favorite Pelikans and loaded them with ink! thumbup.gif

My Pel Grand Place is fitted with a 1.1mm crisp italic and filled with PR Chocolat and my 400 blue stripe Soverign is fitted with a .9mm ItaliFine and is filled with PR DC Supershow Blue.

Have had a hard time working today for scribbling on everything playing with the new nibs! blush.gif

May have to refill both tonight! These puppies really lay down the ink. vbg.gif

Good morning, JD and everyone. 50F out, high in mid 70's.

Will use Orange Capless with Ambre and Lime Green Prera with the purplish blue mix today. I was in such a hurry to get out of the house, and forgot my pen case. "Sparco" blue stick BP (looks just like Bic) I found in a drawer at work today angry.gif Tonight I'm hoping to use my FPN pen for journaling if it shows up in the mail smile.gif

FPN pen, thinking about filling with Tahitian Pearl. I filled it with Diamine Tropical Blue but the flow is too good. Prera and Orange Capless as back up. I must pack my pen case today biggrin.gif
jd50ae
Good morning Taki. I hope you enjoy your FPN LE as much as I expect to.
63F and the sun is out. We were supposed to have rain all week but Have not seen any.

M800 and my OldGriz.

Amazingly, I haven't used any fountain pens today.

Today I used my glass-barrelled, steel-nibbed dip-pen. (Yes, I own & use one)...to write down my story-notes. (I write a LOT of these things)...a tad rough, but still a very very nice writer when it's held properly.
jonro
The main pen of the day will be my new FPN LE, filled with Florida Blue (although when I look out the window, the skies are Florida Cloudy). I'll probably use my VP a bit and maybe an Esterbrook J with a 9556 nib.
Pengrump
FPN LE with Noodler's Ottoman Azure is my main pen today. Also have a couple of Sailors, a Pelikan 215 (lozenge pattern), and my Ban-ei inked up, but the FPN LE has done my writing so far. It seems to write better than my regular Bexley Simplicity, but that may just be an effect of nib size and ink choice.
jpolaski
Today's is my FPN LE (didn't see that coming did you) filled with Diamine Prussian Blue and my Cordovan "51" with Quink Washable blue

Great day to write!
jd50ae
Hello Taki, we finally got some rain. 64F and the radar is covered with rain echos.

Today I am using my Squid Pen, my OldGriz Dragon and of course one of my M800s.
OldGriz
Today it's my FPN filled with La Couleur Royale and my Lamy Safari filled with Caran d'Ache Storm....
First time in a long time I have not carried any vintage pens....
Taki
Good morning, JD, Tom and everyone. Looks like it's rainy here, too.

Oooo, Squid pen wub.gif

FPN pen filled with Midnight Blues. My bottle of Tahitian Pearl has turned into an ugly green sick.gif Might need to shake it. Also it crept on the nib like crazy and flowed like fire hose tongue.gif
pakmanpony
Good morning FPNers. Joyfully today it is my FPN LE with Parker Penman Saphire and my newly binderized crisp italic Grand Place with De Atr.. Vanilla ink. thumbup.gif

This morning I cycled my Hundred Year Pen out of the Piquadro and replaced it with this Onoto, whose filler I just restored:

Nice smooth wet nib, suitable for doing battle with those doggone thermal credit-card receipts!

Today, I inked my my newly received Parker Duofold Centennial in Black & Pearl with a fine nib! Can you say "Wow!"?

I've never been overly impressed with the modern Duofolds until I saw the photos of this one. I couldn't believe how much better they look in person than they do in the photos. I know everyone says that, but in this case it's true - there's a opalescence in this resin that simply can't be captured in a photograph. It's magnificent!

jd50ae
Good morning everybody in the whole universe.
Pick up those pens and write someone, make someone feel good.

Today I am using the bigboys and an M800 of course.

Chilly 49 degrees in Boston right now, but it will get warmer later in the week, they say. Today's pens are the FPN with Ottoman Azure, Sailor Pro Gear with Sailor Blue, and Dani Ban-ei with Sailor Black as my writing pens. A Parker 51 demi tuned by Ron Z. and filled with Herbin Poussiere de Lune is my editing pen today. Time to attack some long-winded manuscripts and see if I can make them readable.
pakmanpony
Today the FPN LE with Parker Penman Saphire, praticing calligraphy with my Binderized Pel Grand Palace italic with De Atramentis Vanilla and writting a little note to the wife with my Parker Sonnet Ruby red with MontBlanc Love Letter Red.
