I'm in a cabin that has no phone, no TV, no Internet, all of which I wanted so I wouldn't be distracted so I could wrap up revisions and lo and behold...I discover somebody nearby has Internet access and I'm back on the FPN with my wireless connection rolleyes.gif Here's the pens I brought to the cabin: Bexley Simplicity w/ Pelikan turquoise, M400 w/ Diamine Crimson, Pel Grand Place w/ Pelikan Brilliant Brown, Waterman Charleston w/ Apache Sunset, and Pel M200 w/ DC Blue. Plus a bottle of DC Blue as backup...

Now, I'm logging off and working...

After golf, I am using the Nakaya Long Writer

Today's test run is a freshly resacked 1939 Duofold. If I didn't know teflon was invented later, I'd suspect it of being all over this nib-- WOOSH!
Taki
Good morning, JD and everyone. I think it's going to be another nice day today.

Today I will be using Silver VP with Fiesta Red and pink decimo with Arabian Rose. Lots of articles to read.
jd50ae
Good morning Taki. It is another bright and sunny day.

Lawyers today so Black M800 and Ultra Black ink.
rroossinck
Bright and sunny here, too, JD. Today's weapon of choice will be a Cross Solo XF in Kelly Green, filled with Diamine Sepia. I would imagine that there'll be a couple of others that get thrown in the mix, too. Maybe the yellow and black Pelikan Level 1, with Pelikan Royal Blue. Heck, since the gas tank in that thing holds about 4 times what a normal one holds, I'll be using it for a good long time before a refill.
Taki
Good morning JD and everyone. 45F and raining, but sounds like it's going to stop soon.

I am anticipating a busy day at work, and will be using two Preras;lime green one with Pinkly, Vivid Pink one with Midnight Blues.
jd50ae
You are up early today Taki. It is 44F and very clear skys.

M800 and my altered Martha Stewart (not so liberal ink flow)
Taki
We took our weekly road trip to Omaha and back. I have not used a pen today. Will use Orange Capless F nib filled with Herbin Ambre (orange scented) for journal.
jd50ae
Good morning Taki and almost everyone.
59F and it is going to be another sunny day.

M800 of course and my OldGriz Dragon.
Taki
Hi, JD. It was sunny and rainy today, and another front coming toward this way soon. I have not used a pen today but probably use the Orange Capless with Herbin Ambre for journal again because that one is pretty much the only one that does not bleed through too bad on the current pages of my Moleskine mad.gif

Good heavens, what am I not using today? I'm teaching a brief class on the history of writing instruments from Mesopotamian stylus up to the hated Biro (and a mention of the PDA stylus for circularity). Of interest here, coming along to demonstrate are a Vacumatic, a "17" ('cuz I gots no "51"), a Duofold, a Snorkel, couple of anonymous sac-fillers, along with a set of Brause dip-nibs, some Chinese brushes, and a chunk of wood to make fakey cuneiform.
HDoug
Sorry I don't have a pic, but I'm checking in because I'm actually using a different pen today. I put down my usual edged italic nibs (a bit too much work for a Sunday morning) and picked up the Parker 75 my mom gave me so many years ago. Nice round (not edged) fine nib. Loaded with Luxury Blue, the somewhat dry nib makes the pages of my journal appear a bit pale, but seemingly intelligent too! Of course, close inspection of the pages, i.e. the actual reading of the words, contradicts that appearance. But if it's better sometimes to look good than to feel good, it may be better also to appear smart than be smart!

Doug

P.S. A bright sunny day here in Honolulu, and my room thermometer says it's 77 degrees. Perfect for my usual Sunday beachware journaling.
Taki
Ggod morning, JD and everyone! 54F and windy, gusts up to 30 mph.

HDoug, your 75 is priceless! I had a Platinum pen one of my uncle gave me when I entered junior high, but I lost it several years ago. I really wish I still had it.

Two Preras Vivid Pink Prera with PR Midnight Blues again today. got to take their photos one of these days.

EDIT: Ran out of Pinkly in Lime Green mad.gif Can't wait to go home and refill biggrin.gif
jd50ae
Good morning Taki. 66F and it looks like rain. Its a school day biggrin.gif

I'm using a Pilot Vanishing point, Fine, loaded with Blue Suede ink. I Love Love Love this pen! So much so that I'm inventing things to write with it. I hate to admit it, but I'm handwriting my to do list before typing it into MLO. roller1.gif
stephen82
Vanishing Point (M)-- Blue Carbonesque with Namiki Blue/Black ink. I usually don't care for blue/black ink, but I really like the Namiki. I wish they would put it in a bottle and not just cartridges.

I also have a Pilot Epoch as a back-up at work today.

I will be using for the remainder of the day my brand new Jules Squid pen from Dragon Pens, SN 1. A gift from my wonderful wife.

This morning I picked up my Parker 75 Cisele with an extra fine nib, filled with NI Black. I'm also going to use my Parker 50 Falcon Flighter, filled with Namiki Blue, for longer notes
jd50ae
Taki, I have come to a conclusion that I am sure so many of our fellows have.
There are so many pens and so little time.
75F and raining.

Today used:

Montblanc Meisterstuck 145 fountain pen for notewriting.

Cross fountain pen, for editing, proofreading, correcting, critiquing and reviewing fellow uni-students work for class tomorrow. (still doing this. I stopped to give my hand some time to rest).

Ha ha! Finally, I'll beat Taki to the punch today!

Morning folks...it's probably colder than normal today, and I think it's supposed to continue to rain.

(I told Noah and the crew to give it a rest last night on the whole ark-building escapade, but he just looked at me and said, "Hey man, I've got orders...", and went back to his power saw.) smile.gif

Using a Pelikan Level, a Parker 21, and a Lamy 2000 today.
Taki
Good monring, Ryan, JD and everyone! 50F and yes, it's going to rain again today.

Yup, I slept in this morning...it's my day off today. One of our neighbor's yard is flooded. I should tell them about Noah. roller1.gif

Will be going to Iowa City (not for fun, though) today and probably won't be using pens much.

Pelikan M400 Honey with Purple Martin/Gris Nuage mix for journaling tonight.
fitzharry
I am using my brand-new Pelikan 1000 Black/Green with fine nib and Noodler's Navajo Turquoise ink, and my Pelikan 800 Black/Red with fine nib with Pelikan Royal Blue.
tutelman
Oh happy day! Today I inked my brand spanking new Tibaldi Modello 60. Incredible celluloid and a smooooth broad nib makes it an excellent signature pen when filled with that reliable old standby, Waterman's Florida Blue.

The backup in the rotation is my sterling Cross Paul Smith filled with Cross blue. Talk about contrasting appearances!

Can it get any better? Yes. I just got notice from USPS that my Ancora Perla and Cross Signature are on their way back from Pendemonium with their newly ground stub nibs. cloud9.gif

My Teal 51 Demi with DC SuperShow Blue and my Black Carbonesque Namiki VP with De Atramentis Brown Vanilletinte.

Hi guys,

I'm new here, but I thought I'd join in anyways.

I used my Waterman Prelude today writing some letters.

take care,
Corey
Taki
Hi Corey, welcome to FPN biggrin.gif What ink is your Prelude filled with?

Today I will be using Stipula Saturno filled with Noodler's Purple Martin, Parker "51" Cocoa filled with Waterman Havana, and Pelikan M400 Honey filled with Purple Martin/Gris Nuage Mix.

rroossinck
Now that Stipula is a huge pen for your tiny little hands, Tak!

I've got a VP loaded with vintage Quink Blue, and a Cross Solo XF filled with Montblanc Blue for today.

Reloaded the Teal Blue Parker 51 Demi EF from Northwest Pen Works with SuperShow Blue (PR) and swapped out the Namiki VP with a Brushed Copper Legacy II stub nib from Jim Gaston with PR Chocolat. Sweet!

Sitting on pins and needles waiting for a 1.1mm Crisp Italic and .9 ItaliFine from Richard Binder to go in my favorite Pels.

Hey does anyone have a half a bottle of Waterman Purple they don't need? I have a half bottle of Florida Blue that really needs to be mixed with some purple to make up a load of Binder Blurple! drool.gif

Taki
Good morning, everyone smile.gif Not sure what is like outside, but the furance just kicked in.

Orange Capless with J. Herbin Ambre
Lime Green Prera with Tanzanite/Glacier Blue/Midnight Blues mix.

I made extensive use of my Montblanc Meisterstuck 145 this evening. I wrote 3.5 pages of fresh story-notes today, and onece again, my Montblanc ran out of ink halfway through!...I think I should get a drop-tube put into that pen to give it a constant supply of ink. This is the second time in a WEEK that that pen has gone from completely full to completely empty in just a couple of hours....
Taki
Same as yesterday. I leave my white coat at work and left my pens in the pocket last night. I'm usually really good about putting pens in the case but it was such a hectic day. I'm not really worried about them getting lost but still don't like leaving them sad.gif
jd50ae
Bright beautiful sunny day and 58F.
I am using all of these guys. Cleaning and polishing
I will write with The Squid, OldGriz Dragon and of course one of my M800s.
pakmanpony
In a 50's kind of mood today! rolleyes.gif Parker 51 Demi with PR SS Blue and Waterman Red Ripple 52 with De Atrimentis Vanilla.

I just got an Ohto Tasche, which I was interestd in as a "knockabout pen" like the Kaweco Sport, AL Sport, and Rotring 600. The Tasche is a nice pen for the money, but not "heavy duty" like the AL Sport and the 600. It is strong enough not to break when dropped on a hard surface (nib, excepted, of course), but it isn't Destructo Boy proof. tongue.gif It writes fairly well, though the flow is a bit sparse on the rapid strokes, doesn't skip, but thins noticeably. It writes better with a heavy hand, unlike my Hero 616, the flow king, actually a bit scratchier with the same pressure, but writes better, and very smoothly, with light pressure, and no skipping. Ditto w.r.t. my Kaweco Sport. I'm including a writing sample of these and some other pens, as below. The smoothest writers are my Kaweco AL Sport with broad nib and my Sheaffer TM TD Triumph nib Snorkel. Both are marbles on ice, but the Kaweco broad nib is too thick a writer to be useful. So my best and most useful writer of this selection is my Sheaffer Snorkel. But my Hero 616 is my carry signature pen, and my Kaweco Sport is my carry writing pen, both being more expendable. Other pens are in the hunt for "best writer", such as my 51 Flighter, but they are currently uninked to compare. Back to the Ohto Tasche, it's a nice pen, worth the price, but it is a bit too thin in the grip for my liking, the Kaweco Sport has about the right thickness there. But for anyone who feels the Kaweco is too bulky, then the Tasche should be a consideration. JMO, FWIW!!! wink.gif

Hmmmmmm, interesting writing instrument lying flat on the desk top. Is that perchance a blued and walnut CZ-85 fifteen cartridge fountain pen? Let me guess, you have had no problems with anyone stealing your pens! roller1.gif roller1.gif roller1.gif

What size NIB does your pen have. I have 2 145's, a M and B both need to be refilled after a couple of pages. Very juicy pens. I also have 2 146's with F and EF's and they last much longer without refill although they are plunger pens and hold more ink.
Taki
Don't know outside temp, but I'm guessing in 40's. I heard high will be in 80's!! Not that matters when I work.

Same as yesterday, BUT I swapped the nibs in my Orangne Capless and decimo. Orange with Herbin was writing a little dry, and decimo with Arabian Rose was really (almost too) wet. So I switched ink and it seems to work better that way smile.gif
jd50ae
Good morning Taki and all the rest of the early risers.
54F and it is sunny.

Today I am using a TAC II and a Sheaffer school pen. Both have PR Dakota Red in them. A couple folks have been having problems with this ink and I have been experimenting for over a week and I can't get them to fail.
