1) a beautiful little Sheaffer Vac, brown w/gold stripes, bought a couple of weeks ago from Southpaw, restored by Binder, filled with Florida Blue. I'm in love again!

2) my favorite gray marbled Estie J, #9461, filled with Aurora Black and looking jealous-- unsure.gif

Good morning all,

This weeks choice is a Dunhill Sidecar FP and pencil set. Black with silver (paladium) clip and bands. Using Herbin "Rouge Cyclamen" ink. Understated and simple (only a converter fill) but with quality running through it like a stick of rock.
Taki
Good morning!

I think I will use Pilot 78G with Legal Lapis, decimo with Quinkerman, and maybe M400 White Tortoise with my Purple-Grey mix. Hoping my new/old pen is coming here today or tomorrow!
JRodriguez
Today I've inked up a Esterbrook J I recently acquired, a Filcao Columbia, and a Pelikan 800. I went two weeks in Europe with only 3 pens - a Lamy 2000, an Aurora 88 and a Lamy Safari - and it really made me appreciate the pens I had awaiting my return, some of which were new acquisitions!
ojars
restored Parker 51 made in 1951 loaded with Noodler's Black

these Parker 51's are wonderful pens!

Good evening, everyone!

I've been on the FPN for a few weeks now, but this is my first post here. Thanks for the wonderfully warm welcome!

Today, I've got:

1. Esterbrook SJ in silver with Herbin Poussiere de Lune
2. Pilot Custom 823 with Aurora Black
3. Waterman Edson with Waterman Florida Blue
4. MB 146 with MB Bordeaux - very interesting ink...
5. Pelikan Grand Place with Waterman Havana Brown

I inked the Estie since I couldn't wait to try the Herbin ink. I love the color and I think it could be a great match for my Pelikan Piccadilly Circus (just arrived today biggrin.gif ) or my Decimo in Japan pink.

All the best,
Mike

Good morning!

Pilot 78G with my LCRPR Tanzanite and Glacier Blue mix (ran out of LL in the pen but wanted a little change)

decimo with Quinkerman

EDIT: wrong ink name. I guess coffee hadn'o kicked in when I wrote it.

So much for self-control and restraint...

5) Shaeffer no nonsense Blue with Shaeffer peacock blue

A tough and very hectic week this has been and will continue to be. A lot of meetings and fast writing on a variety of not-so-pen-friendly surfaces. My toughest workhorses are with me:

Pelikan M800 with Florida Blue w' a couple of drops of south seas -- Fine nib
Pelikan M600 with Pelikan Black -- extra fine nib (for those tight spots)
Waterman LeMan 100 with Waterman Blue Black -- fine nib

JD, that ED looks very interesting! Is the writing on the bottom done with that pen?

A day off today.

What are you having Richard done on your 51?

Today I pulled out my Duofold Centennial, my Parker 45, and my Parker "51" - figured I'd try a manufacturer theme day ...

Today, I'm writing with:

Pilot Vanishing Point, Black with Gold Trim, Binder 0.8mm Stub - Noodlers Zhivago

Pelikan M200, Blue Demo, B Nib - Private Reserve American Blue

Pelikan M620, Grande Place, M Nib - I could have sworn I had PR DC Supershow Blue in this but it looks like PR American Blue, these inks are so similar sometimes I have a hard time telling them apart! Makes sense then that they are my two favorite blues.

I found the cap and the barrel at 2 different locations after the storm. There are no markings what so ever on either part. There was a clip on the cap but it was so rusted I tossed it. Had a bunch of parts in a bag and sat down one day to see if anything could be salvaged. The two parts had the same thread and fit perfectly. Added a salvaged Italic F nib from what I am sure was from a Sheaffer calligraphy set, added a cart and it wrote very well. Converted it to ED a few days ago, added my own ink mixture and it again works perfectly. It is a very nice writer.

My Navy Gray 51 was a good buy from 'fleabay' but I could never understand why the Borg-queen had never gripped me.

After having nibs from Mr.Binder for my Parker 45s and Pelikan M215 I decided to have him look at my 51. His initial assessment is that the nib is well worn so it's in his queue waiting to be "breathed on" by the nibmeister.

I am so looking forward to getting it back!

I really like it JD50ae. I guess I really like how some of the things we own and use - like pens - have stories behind them, and become associated with certain people and events in our lives. In any case, I know it's been very trying for you, but thanks for sharing.

I agree! I like hearing stories behind pens, and for the same reason I like what kind of person owned pens engraved with names.

I used my Parker 75 sterling silver rollerball with a blue, fine point(yea, yea, I know its rollerball, but hey! I found it at school and my teacher kept asking all of his classes if they lost a pen, but no one ever claimed it, so I got to keep it!) I also used my Sheaffer's TM Touchdown Sentinel pencil. BTW, mine is the "flat top" model. How much would a RB go for? Thanks!

I'm carrying three today.
    Vanishing Point - Blue Carbonesque (F): Dennis Lively's green ink
    Parker 51 Vac (XF): Pelikan Royal Blue 4001 ink
    Lamy Flame (XF): Sheaffer Skrip Black

I've found that these three seem to go everywhere with me. Every now and again I'll mix it up with something different (like a rOtring 600) but for the most part, I'm getting rather set in my ways.

Flood watch here until midnight.... ugh

Today's are:

Sliver Pearl Vac with fine two tone nib filled with a mix of quink blue and blue-black
Midnight Blue Parker "51" with English Medium nib filled with Waterman Blue-black
Blue Eversharp Skyline with GF cap and fine nib filled with Waterman blue-black
dwmatteson
I have a long pre-screening conference call today for a prospective grant applicant, so I pulled out the trusty Pelikan M205 and loaded it up with PR DC Supershow Blue. That should get me through the call with room to spare. cool.gif

Otherwise, it's:
Grape Cooler Bexley Fun Time with Aurora Blue;
Cocoa Parker "51" aerometric with Noodler's Blue;
Charcoal Lamy Safari with Levenger Pinkly;
Sheaffer Lifetime Clipper Snorkel with Diamine Prussian Blue;
Rubberized black Danitrio Tac Carry II with Waterman Florida Blue.

Hmm. Seems like I'm in a blue-ink mood.

An Esterbrook J - 125 manifold nib, Parker Duofold Centennial - M stub nib, Filcao Columbia - f/m nib. I really like the patterning on that Wality JD50ae. Very nice!

That Grand Place photo is great. Your handwriting is my ideal.

Today it's the Binder .6mm stub Pelikan (and I have a .6 mm stub for my Vanishing Point on its way, calloo callay) freshly loaded with Herbin Lie de Thé. I'll probably bust out the Densho with Diamine Emerald as well, and the Phileas with Legal Lapis for any envelopes.

I need to buy more Noodler's Golden Brown, must see if James has some in stock. I haven't used my White Tortoise in way too long and I miss it.

Yeah, I like HDoug's handwriting, too. Looks effortless (in very good way) yet very neat, legible and pleasant!!!

Sonia, combination of Densho and Emerald sounds beautiful! My only black pen is Lamy CP1, but I might fill it with DWL green smile.gif
