Metallic blue Waterman Hemisphere with Waterman blue-black.
Great story on the Waterman today. I was using the waterman to write down fitting measurments on a woman I was doing a bicycle fit on. She saw the pen and turned to her husband and said, look dear he's using a fountain pen! And to think I made the poor woman fill out her name and address with a cheap disposable BIC!

Today I flew into Dallas from Detroit sporting my Black Parker 51 full (of course) of Waterman's Florida Blue, my Red Parker 21 full of Waterman's red (to match the barrell, of course) and my usual traveler, a Watermans Blue Marble Phileas Ball Point (how'd THAT get in there).

Both Parkers were slightly wet inside the caps but flew nicely. Just in case, I'll flush them out before I fly home from Jackson, MS.

I'll resurrect the striped Duofold and/or the red marbled Challenger Deluxe next week.

I'm usually toting my Pelikan 805, Broad nib, (currently loaded with PR Blue Suede but I might switch it out for PR Naples Blue) and a Lamy Safari, Broad nib with Noodler's Tiananmen Red for corrections.

I had a Namiki Vanishing Point, but my husband swiped it. sad.gif

I hope to get it back someday. ..

I'ts OK. biggrin.gif Really.

My darling husband, sitting at the computer next to mine, has absconded with my Namiki VP.

I've ordered him a replacement, but due to complications with the incompitent vendor, it hasn't arrived just yet. And as he hasn't got a FP of his own, and I own four others (only two of which are currently working) he's hanging on to mine until he gets his.

I'm missing the Namiki, but the new Pelikan is helping to take my mind off it.

I do one pen a day in rotation at home. Today I'm using a Genius "Black & Gold Fountain Pen" which doesn't really have any gold on it. It's really too fine a nib for me, but it's what I've got after I wrecked the previous pen in this slot in the rotation angry.gif .

I'm using my plum colored ink mixture in it. A fun ink color cool.gif .

Ink Stained Wretch
Today I'm using an old Platignum Italic fountain pen that I bought 25-30 years ago. I'm using the "medium" nib unit and I'm experimenting with a 2:1 mixture of Noodler's Standard Brown to Noodler's Eternal Brown. I'm looking for "my" brown ink mixture. I plan on trying several more brown combinations in the near term.
Penumbra
My office pen today is a beautiful, buttery glider, the Pelikan M400 White Tortoise with Noodler's Aquamarine.

Cross Townsend in Sienna with gold trim & nib in medium flowing with standard Cross black cartridge until I decide to buy some Pelikan Brown. It's currently my favourite diary & note writer. smile.gif9

My Lamy 2000 is having a hard time competing for attention despite its longer design heratige and (broad) medium nib.

I thought I had six inked pens, but one had run dry. So only five are ready to work:
Richard
Today being Easter, the most important holiday of the year, I set aside the "51", an act that has left me feeling a little naked, and inked up something with a little more glitter to coordinate with the gold vestments at church this morning.

The consolation is that this rickrack-"chased" overlay Morrison from the '20s has a remarkably sweet flex nib with the least bit of a stub on its tip. Hoo-wee!
Venus
Two today....First and fave is my waterman 100 year pen, navy rippled body with a big rigid gold nib. Filled with the last of my vintage sheaffer's peacock blue ink.

Second one is a blue VP with a broad italic nib modified by Mr. Mottishaw. I love the way this pen writes now. Filled with Diamine Imperial Purple.
Richard
Today I restored, and am now carrying, this Parkette made in the firs quarter of 1950. Not a bad pen -- the steel nib even has a delicate bit of flex. It leaves me wondering who here is carrying the least expensive pen -- meaning the retail price in terms of 2006 dollars. I ran the computation on this $3.50 pen, and today the MSRP would be $29.41. So who else is currently carrying a pen whose MSRP -- not the street price -- is under $29.50?

Not I. However, like you I am carrying a pen which as you well know represents darn good value for money, a Hero 100 flighter! That and a Pelikan 100N, which has the distinction of carrying the most loved nib in my collection smile.gif.
Johnny Appleseed
Not me either, I am afraid, with a Sheaffer Triumph 1250 and a Triumph Crest 1750. Of course, I did get the Crest for $15.00.

Does an Ingersoll dollar pen count? (well, I carried it today, but it isn't working).

John
chrisb
So what's the formula for figuring out the 2006 MSRP on FPs?

One of the pens I'm carrying today is under $29.50 to be sure. My pearl brown Esterbrook J. Filled with Havana Brown.

The other three pens I'm carrying today are a 1965/66 Pelikan Silvexa M20, a 1942 Sheaffer Crest and a 1936 Sheaffer Jr. (though it hasn't made it out of my work bag yet today). I'm guessing that in 2006 dollars they each well exceed $29.50.
