Sorry for the poor picture quality. My camera is broken and had to use my cell phone.

This Pelikan was purchased in Germany many years ago for probably under $100 at that time. It is 4 and 15/16" long capped. There are no metal rings on the main body of the pen. The ink window is clear. The cap has two metal rings, one wider than the other. Etched on the wider ring is "Pelikan" and "W-Germany." The end of the cap above the clip ring is resin and has the Pelikan logo impressed with gold ink. That part is about 1/4" long. Most of the pictures of Pelikans that I can find online either show a stepped metal ring on this part or a much longer resin cap.

It has a Pelikan OB nib - gold in color. I'm assuming it is gold plated. It writes very smoothly.

I would really like to know what model this is given my fairly recent foray into pen collecting mania.

Thank you for the help.

Seems that you have the M200 model (old style) with engraved pelikan logo. It will be M250 model if your nib is 14k gold nib. The recent M200 model comes with a single trim on the cap and turning knob. There is no more dome cap on the new style but a black cap crown with silk screen pelikan logo. Your pen must be before pre-unification of Germany ie. prior to 1989. Hope this helps. rolleyes.gif

i reckon to be M200 or M400 old model. it depend on the nib colouration. is there any indication on the nib like 14k or 585. if i am not wrong, it would be M400 old model, cos M400 then got OB nib.

Looking at the dome shape cap, this is a M200 old style. The M200 old style comes with gold plated nib, double cap band and a dome shaped cap with engraved logo. Is yours a Burgundy color? Nice one. Keep it well cause it is no longer easy to get one especially one marked with W. Germany. smile.gif

It is black. Thanks for the info. I plan to keep for a lot of reasons: gift from wife, writes well, looks classy, is just a nice pen overall. Having lived in W. Germany - it has connections for me.
