Just got back from my weekly perambulations around the flea-market. Today's find was rather interesting. The gentleman who sold it to me ($30, thank you) gave it to me, complete with the original box (the box is slightly damaged, but a bit of sticky-tape ought to fix that up).
I have a Parker Lady Duofold, made in England, so the imprint says.
The pen is dark green with a gold arrow-clip and a nice gold cap-band. Comes with a dark green cap-jewel. The pen is a tiny bit longer than 4.5 inches, capped. The cap is of the threaded kind, that screws onto the barrel. Removing the cap reveals a hooded nib (no clutch-ring, not a slip-on cap). Unscrewing the barrel reveals a squeeze-filler which is in good, working condition. A refill with Waterman blue-black, a shake and a scribble makes this pen write like a wet medium, or possibly a very wet fine. Appears to be NOS and is in perfect, working condition. It had a bit of gunk around the top of the barrel, but a little scratching with a fingernail removed it and the pen is now nice and clean.
Not bad for $30.
How old is this pen? Any idea? Photos coming soon.
