I have a Sheaffer Statesman snorkel with an f4 PdAg triumph nib. When I fill it with Sheaffer blue-black ink, the flow will start slowly and the first letter is incomplete when I first put pen to paper, but, when I fill it with Diamine Steel Blue ink, it flows without any first letter halting. However, usually after a week with the Steel Blue ink in it, some ink will clump up around the underside of the nib and collect at the tip of the nib. Basically, the Diamine Steel Blue is my go-to ink for flow issues. Is there a better ink choice for flow issues?

I like Aurora Black and PR DC Supershow Blue for speeding up the flow.

Waterman's Blue-Black isn't bad either.

funny! i got the same pen with the same issue. and i was puzzled cos' my skrip BB works well with all my other vintage.

now i got it inked up with diamine BB and works fine. other inks that i tried with this pen are PR fiesta red and dc supershow blue and they both flow well. some how they didn't look appropriate for this pen... IMO they weren't serious enough... hmm!!
