What is the difference bewteen these two pens. I have the Sapporo and Mini Sapporo but have not held a 1911. I recently got a Professional Gear Ebonite.

Thanks in advance.
Siv
1, size - the 1911 is bigger (thicker)
2, nib - the sapporo has a 14k gold nib and the 1911 has a 21k nib
3, the shape. The 1911 has rounded ends whereas the sapporo has flat ends. The Profesional Gear is the same size and same nib as a 1911 but the same design as a sapporo

Cool, thanks Siv. Sailor has too many designs. roflmho.gif But great nibs.

My Pro Gear has a 21K nib so I will take the 1911 off my want list.

Don't forget that there are two sizes of 1911, the full sized 1911 Classic and the mid-sized 1911M.

I believe that the 1911M and the Sapporo are similar in dimensions. Both have the slightly smaller 14K nibs

The 1911 Classic is noticeably larger, and has the larger 21K nib.

So to summarise --
Mid size 1911M and Sapporo, with 14K nibs
Full size 1911 Classic and Professional Gear, with 21K nibs.

1911s are cigar shaped, Sapporo and Pro Gear are truncated.

Thanks dcwaites. So my Sapporo is like a 1911M. And the Pro Gear is like a 1911 full. You are all great at answering questions. Thanks
