We're pleased to announce that our scheduled speaker is Rick Krantz on Chilton Pens.
Also, since the ink exchange at our cousin-club meeting last month in Harrisburg was so successful we invite everyone to bring their unwanted and unloved ink for others to try and trade.
For full information and to RSVP see the club website at:
Philadelphiapens.comLook forward to seeing lots of old and new faces there!

This is strange. Every post for past meetings has led to some kind of discussion. Plenty of people have RSVP'd, yet no one has posted here but me. Hmmmm.

I got the nod that I can go so I will have to send in my info. I am going to bring the new bakelite Traveler pen that I just finished. I would like some critique on the design.

I'll be in the city but doing the tourist thing instead. Any suggestions for lunch around independence hall?

Hi Kurt,
You got plenty of choices nearby if you're around Independence Hall, but not any that are particularly geared towards kids. Some examples of what's in the area include:
Farmacia - 3rd Street between Market and Chestnut - American
Fork - Market St. between 3rd and 4th - American (I think they have a brunch on Saturdays too)
LaScalas's - 7th St. and Chestnut - Italian American
Cuba Libre - 2nd between Market and Chestnut - Cuban
Amada - Chestnut between 2nd and 3rd - Tapas
Jones - 7th and Chestnut - American
If you and the kids are up for a short walk, there is the Reading Terminal Market (12th and Filbert (1 block north of Market) and Chinatown (between 9th and 11th, and Arch and Vine Streets)
Have fun!

yes, my personal preference
If it needs to be recorded, I will not present
not trying to be a party pooper, or a crybaby, but I don't like video or audio records of myself.
I will be more than glad to give the presentation multiple times, but my preference is definitely not having it recorded.

Rick, no problem whatsoever. It was just an idea, a reaction to my frustration that I was going to miss your presentation due to work.
No big deal. Anyway now it is even worse as I have to go to a funeral...

Antonios, I will find a time to present it again, and make sure it is a time that works for you. Perhaps if it is any good, I can do it at the Philly pen show.

Rick, your presentation was awesome. I feel like I need to get a Chilton or two now.
What with John's presentation on Franklins, your presentation on Chiltons, Charlie on Camels and Antonios on nibs, the presentations at our meetings have been incredible. (Alan, I'm sure your was great too. Sorry I missed that meeting.)
Kurt, thought you were going to join us. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you.
Steph, sorry I wasn't able to stick around and have lunch with you guys.
See you at the Philly show!

I had planned on attending but we had a guest in town so we went to the rest of the city and spent most of the day at the Franklin Institute ( which I got a family membership for!)
So I missed this meeting!

It is great to have Rick at a pen aficionados' meeting. Though he hasn't made a formal presentation to the Central Penn Pens as yet, it's only a matter of time. I wish I could have been at the Philly meeting.
I love Chilton. I had one of their manuals for my '56 Chevrolet, and I had a mini-bike with a Chilton engine in it. I had no idea they made pens, too.
