From Terry Mawhorter of the Ohio Pen Show

I wanted to let everybody know that we have an updated list of exhibitors posted at www.ohiopenshow.com as of yesterday, 12 midnight. I heard from five more today who will be there-Mike Carter, Frank Crescioni, Francis Meinhardt, Pearce Jarvis from Canada and Jesy Kullock from South America.

We also have posted some great photos from the 2007 show.

We will have photos up in a day or two of auction items. These include some great 51's, early eye droppers, scarce 30's pens and items from the former Parker employee.

I am still working on the seminar/workshop schedule but I can tell you that we will offer our usual sessions on selecting a pen for your hand, repair, nib work, investing in pens plus the PCA Pens For Kids Workshop and some PCA informational/recruiting sessions. We will again offer a two hour workshop on calligraphy and new for 2008 will be a 1 and 1/2 hour workshop on journaling.

We are continuing all hospitality functions-wine and cheese welcome, Pendemonium pizza party and the dessert party. We will have morning coffee for exhibitors on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The lunch wagon will continue to be available at noon for a quick reasonable food break.

Don't forget about the annual PCA meeting on Friday evening. Also we will have about 15 tables available for any early bird arrivals on Wednesday, November 5, starting 6 pm.

If it wasn't an 8 hour trip I'd be there in a flash. Oh well will have to wait for the Philly show instead.

Barnacles! I've got friends in town that weekend.

Are there usually seminars on Thursday and Friday? Do most vendors attend from Thursday on or do they come for the weekend? I was thinking of going for Thursday and Friday.

You will find a good share of vendors on Thursday and Friday, but Saturday is the beginning of the public show
To get in on Thursday and Friday you need to purchase a weekend ticket.. but that also gets you into the hospitality parties (Wine and Cheese Thursday and Pizza Friday) on those evenings which are a lot of fun...
There will seminars on Friday, but they have not been announced yet... there is also a vintage pen auction on Thursday evening that is not to be missed... you never know what you might find.
I will be arriving sometime Thursday afternoon and setting up on Friday morning......
The Ohio Show is a great time for all.... Terry and his crew do a fantastic job for both exhibitors and visitors to make it one of the better shows on the circuit IMO.
You could always bring you guests to the show.... you might make a new convert...

Well, I'm only an hour and a half from Columbus so I am going to try yet again this year. Just to make sure, it's $5.00 to get in say Saturday just to walk around and look right?

Well kinda.....

Yes, the charge at the door to walk around and look is $5.00.

But the price of walking around and looking will be of your own making, but certainly much greater than zero. roflmho.gif
