The green thing has been driving me NUTS about Noodler's blues. It's really souring me on Noodler's in sort of a subconscious way; no matter the color blue it seems to have green in it.
I do think Polar Blue is good, either by itself or as a mixing ink. I mix Polar Blue with PR DC Supershow Blue and PR American Blue and it works great- it adds the layer of bulletproof if I rinse or bleach the page and it increases the shading of the PR inks by thinning them out a bit. I've been going through this mix like mad over the two months.
I'm not sure if there's any green in it, but it sure as heck isn't full of green like all of the other Noodler's blues I've tried- Blue, Navy, Legal Blue, Aquamarine Blue, or Legal Lapis. Visually, it is rather underwhelming by itself color-wise, and it's really chalky. But, unlike Legal Lapis, it mixes well with many inks- I've tested it with Slovenian Skrip Blue, Omas Blue, and PR American Blue, DC Supershow Blue and Naples Blue and there are no ill effects. Mixing the PR blues with Legal Lapis ended up with some precipitation and staining of the ink vial in the color of Legal Lapis, permanently as far as I can tell.
I've not tried it w/ Waterman's Florida Blue in an attempt to equalize any green, but I think I'll give it a go to see how it looks. It might help to tone down the excessive purplish look of the Florida Blue.
