I 'm trying to use my Pilot VP at work. I work in health care and do quite a bit of paper documenting. My questions to the forum are : Is Mont Blanc Black ink " bullit-proof " or water proof? Is it appropiate for legal documents? I'm open to trying other inks but they MUST be black, I just had a bit of the MB Black on loan from a friend.

Thanks for the assist,

stjimmy.

It is definately not bulletrproof, and those who have used it can speak on its waterproofness.

May I suggest Noodler's black, which is the bulletproof black?

Bulletproof is a term used only by Noodler's Ink to designate their waterproof and anti-tampering inks. When the ink sinks into the fibers of the paper, it will not come out with water or a number of different chemicals that will eradicate or alter ordinary inks (even water-resistant ones). There aren't any known methods of removing the ink from paper where it can soak in (anything made of cellulose (plant fibers); it won't soak into plastic), and it's generally thought to be unalterable except by destroying the paper itself.

Please be aware that while people generally haven't had problems using Noodler's ink in many kinds of pens, you might want to be cautious using it in expensive pens. There is a huge amount of discussion on Noodler's Inks in the Inky Thoughts forum here on Fountain Pen Network.
