I bought this ink after seeing a sample on a page of the International Traveling Journal and loved it. However, once I bought a bottle and filled a pen up with it I was severely disappointed. The sample I saw was deep and rich with beautiful shading and written with (I think) an borad or italic nib. I filled my Rotring Artpen 1.1 nib with it and it came out a very dull and light, almost more like a very light purple. I tried it with antoher pen and the same story. I inked another pen with it and it came out almost black. This last pen is a fine point and not particularly wet. What gives? Has anyone else encountered such inconsistancies?

I have had a similar experience. Mine turned brownish. I believe the color is unstable. I'm told PR will replace the ink, so I suggest you take it up with your dealer and then escalate to PR if necessary.

The Burgundy Mist formula is unstable for years now. This ink ages and changes colour in the bottle. So what's the point in replacing it by the manufacturer? You'll get another bottle of unstable ink ...

I had no idea inks could be returned. I might just do that. Thanks Andy!
