Am very pleased with the Expert II nib that arrived yesterday, but still trying to adjust to the weight. A very nice, butter-smooth nib -- amazing, really. Perfect right out of the box.

If I were to try a Hemisphere, for less heft, what differences would I expect to see in the nibs?

I don't have an Expert, but do use a Hemisphere. My Hemisphere is not buttery by any means. It's not scratchy either, but I always feel relieved to go back to my P51 or Targa. I keep red ink in the Hemisphere for grading these days.

i agree with deacon, my hemisphere is not unpleasent to write with but i much prefer my expert!
