Out of boredom, I decided to try out writing on tracing paper.
Advantages: very smooth writing, very durable.
Disadvantages: I found some patches(very very small patches) where the ink wouldn't absorb.

I do not recommend it for daily use but its fun to try it out.

I like writing on tracing paper sometimes too. Vellum and onionskin papers are also fun to write on. All three seem to have patches that won't take the ink.

I regularly use tracing paper for writing letters, and IMO it is great. The only care I take is placing a sheet of paper between my hand and the tracing paper, since it seems to absorb moisture and then it does not take ink properly.

The only thing that really annoy me is the non-absorbent patches.
You never really see them coming.
