Two caveats: Scabiosa is an iron gall ink. Search FPN about the use of iron gall inks. The color is in the purple family too, so be aware of possible staining.
To be on the safe side, I don't use it in my prized pens. I use this ink in a pen that writes really well but wouldn't break my heart if it suffered from using this type and color of ink. I clean out the pen between refills and do not leave this ink sit in the pen for long periods of time. I recommend you do the same.
That said, and if the above hasn't scared you off, IMO it is a BEAUTIFUL, dusty aubergine color well worth the precautions. I have used it for a year and a half now with no problems whatsoever.
Enjoy!
Don't worry, you didn't scare me off -- I like iron gall ink.

After much thought, I decided to buy a bottle of Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa. Unfortunately, Pendemonium doesn't carry that color and it is out of stock at the Inked Nib's site. Anyone know of a shop in the U.S. that has this ink in stock?
Ada
The Inked Nib is the only U.S. source that I know, Ada. Perhaps Natalie can let you know when she has it in stock again.
Welcome to FPN!
I don't think I have the patience to wait for her to get it back in stock, particularly after reading the raves about it in this thread. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
