Full Version: Parker Quink Red, Green Discontinued soon?

I was looking on the Swisher Pens site and read that both the Parker Quink Red and Green inks will be discontinued soon. Does any one know anything about this? Old news? Is Swisher the one discontinuing selling them or is Parker discontinuing producing them? I've got an email into Swisher, but they're closed for the evening and don't expect a reply until tomorrow. If anyone has more info, I'd appreciate it - danke smile.gif

I gave up finding Parker green many years ago and Parker red a few years ago. I have not seen either for sale in London, usually I see just two, blue and black, sometimes blue/black, sometimes the washable.

I must admit I thought red and green had been discontinued a long time ago although a quick web search I see both available in the US.

That would fit in the line with other dicontinuations: the Ballpoit Gel refills are reduced from blue, black, red, green, turquoise and purple to only blue and black, also to medium poits only. I like the turquoise Gel refill, as it is still usable in business environments but is not boring.

Over the years, the variety of colors offered by Parker has been diminishing, its the sign of the times as far as fountain pens. I do see other colors for Quink available from other websites ... but retail, its either been black or blue-black.

This often means colors other than black or blue-black will be a specialty or luxury item. I don't think we'll have issues getting other colors given folks like Noodlers and Levenger. Optimistically, it will give these companies more market share, and keep them healthy, hopefully.

Hi Bryan,

I received a mail from Swisher and all they know is that the rep said the products are being discontinued. That's the only information that they have at this time. So far this is the only site I've seen this information. I guess time will tell but if anyone is a fan of this ink, maybe an extra bottle wouldn't be a bad idea? huh.gif

Hey, let's give a large serving of kudos (Greek for "heartfelt esteem," singular, and uncountable in English) to Kelly for that excellent investigative work, which is eureka.gif and cool.gif ! :bunny1: :bunny1: :bunny1:
