Hi
I was going to flush my pel m800 when suddenly the piston mechanism came in my hand. I checked if anything was broken no simply that the mechanism which was glued has unglued itself. Strange phenomenon but I think that sometimes it can happen. I will give it for repair and see what are the results. I never encountered this problem with any of my vintage MBs or with my Omases. Looks like a particular is needed with older style pelikan m800 especially if you feel that the piston filler is someone hard to unscrew. I will keep you updated as soon as I will have it repaired.

That's a shame, Georges. But are you sure the mechanism is glued ? I find that very hard to believe. What part of the piston-filler mechanism would be glued ?

There is no part of the M800 mechanism that is glued. The mechanism screws into the body of the pen via a reverse (left-handed) thread. Any competent repairperson with the right tools should be able to easily reinsert the filler, but while it is out the pen should be thoroughly cleaned and lubed.
It should be no big deal, though I am at a bit of a loss to understand how it came unscrewed in the first place.

Thanks. That's awfully good information!

I dunno. Given the fact that Pelikan customer service is very close to perfect, I'd rather send it out for a repair than risk blowing it myself.
