This is an old Sheaffer that was given to me by one of my aunts; she doesn't know what it is either but says she's had it for "quite some time"

The body is 13.5cm (5.31") long and made of brushed steel. It feels pleasantly smooth, though is a bit heavier than it looks. It has "Sheaffer" stamped on the cap, the nib and the filler; the clip has the Sheaffer white dot on it.

Here's a close-up of the nib; the section is plastic. It seems to be of the "hooded" type and doesn't look like any other Sheaffer I've seen. It's a bit blackened with age.

"Exploded" shot showing the aerometric filler.

Filler alone

Does anyone know what this pen is? I've used it a couple of times; it writes very well but leaves a rather broad line. I've since put it away because I'm more partial to F points. Besides, if it ever breaks I fear I'd never be able to fix it!

Hi,

You've got a Lady Sheaffer 620.

I found it in a Sheaffer Product Information Card from 1977 and it was available then at £5.75.I'm not sure when Sheaffer started production of this pen as 1977 is the first year in my collection of catalogues.

The description in the card reads as follows-
Brushed silver colour lacquered finish, bright chrome florentine band and clip, pen fitted with a stainless steel recessed nib, matching ballpen and pencil available.

Cheers
Gary

Thanks for the info. I googled for it and couldn't find much info, except for a Japanese site I couldn't read.
