hi, folks--my latest ebay exploit: it was late at night, was trawling ebay to wake up while working on a book, and saw this horribly misspelled ad for an "old fashon belikam gunther wagner pen" plus a bottle of ink. well, i knew who gunther wagner was (he used to own pelikan), so i took a look and placed a bid. this morning, about 12 hours later, i won the pen (after some furious last-minute bidding) for $64.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=320302242470
i'm still not sure exactly what i bought (it's hard to tell from the pic, but i think it's the M150 gunther wagner, also recently sold by jjblanche here at FPN for about the same price, but it's supposed to be very hard to find, having been produced in limited numbers in 2002).

http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...showtopic=66263Good catch! I have one in a large tin Pelikan Gunter Wagner box with pen and ink bottle that I have been pondering whether to throw on eBay or hang on to it for a bit longer. If it goes the eBay route you can be sure I'll spell it correctly

any experiences with this pen welcome

There is no special edition m150.
From the picture i see it look like old style m400. Good deal !

hmm, thanks for the info, printhardcopy. i know you're a pelikan dealer so you'll know a lot more about pelikans than most of us, but i wonder what that makes of the M150 in jjblanche's post (see link above), which seems to have the same pen and the same contents as the one in my ebay item? was there ever an M400 gunther wagner? is there a listing of pelikan special editions somewhere? (i've googled for one, but have yet to find it.) thanks!

Yes. It is rather confusing sometimes. I question pelikan many times too about those pens.
Cos pelikan got 170 years of history.
That time im not born yet.
Maybe it is the confusion that make the pen interesting (That is what i thought of)
From history of 5 small birds with 1 big bird till the today 1 small bird with 1 big bird.
I guess it is rather a interesting story which i really love it.

The black pen appears to be an M200 if it is the same length as that M400. Is it 5" long? If so, it isn't a 150.

OK, I'll concede it's an M200

I honestly have a hard time telling the lower end Pelikans from one another.

It is not m200.
It is old style m250.
Of course provided the nib is 14 k nib.
old style m250 and old style m400 is using the same nib.

Later i take photo of m150, m200, m250, m400 together.
Maybe everything will be clear.
For information sometime in ebay, they will say m250 demo with 14k nib. however, m250 never come out with demo.
Only m200 demo.
However, m200 is able to use m250 and m400 old style nib.
There is alot confusion over these pens.

From left to right
old style m150, new style m200, new style m250, old style m250, old style m400
I hope that the picture is clear enough to differential btw all these pens.

many thanks again, printhardcopy. and since the pen in my ebay picture doesn't have a gold ring at the piston end and seems to have only one ring on the cap lip, it has to be.... an old-style M150

Hi
I always thought the giveaway on the M150 apart from the size is that the single cap band is slightly taperd and not flat like the other models (at least I've never seen another model with that type of cap band).

mystery solved: got the pen today (i was traveling for a while), and when i opened the box: a mint, stickered M400 with a single band around the cap. very nice, especially for the price (and the bottle of ink and the gunther wagner box).
