I think that I'm already hooked but let's see if I can embed the barb a little further...
I've 'experienced' the highs and lows of fountain pens, on and off, for quite a few years.
Started out at school having to use 'Osmiroid' (sp?) fillers with scratchy nibs. Not many years later (and several ruined nibs) I was happy to stick with ballpoints...
I had a brief (but happy) flirtation with a Lamy Safari while at university (the first time).
I returned to university a couple of years ago and found Mitsubishi 'Uniball' and 'Jetstream' rollers to my liking... Until a chance acquaintance with another Lamy Safari lured me back to the fold. I write all my notes with a Lamy and use 'squared' Moleskine cahiers.
Now, with the aid of EBay, I'm enjoying my new er... hobby. I've also 'discovered' Noodler's Inks. I keep several Lamy's in my shirt pocket (no, I'm not an engineer) in the form of AL-star and Safari models - each with a different ink.
Fellow students have caught on (cartridges only) and my (3) kids each have two pens that they like to have filled with different ink colours. Several of their teachers have now got in on the act - and they DEFINITELY want to play with colour!
The Lamyisation of Canberra has begun!
