I enjoyed making the first one so much I went ahead and made another one. smile.gif

This is a video tribute to David Byrne & Brian Eno's Strange Overtones, from the Everything That Happens Will Happen Today album. This is all taken with natural light, using a handheld digicam with a video function. The calligraphy, of course, is the lyrics to the song.

Here it is. I wonder which song I'll do next?

Having way too much fun... bunny01.gif

That's absolutely superb Leigh - in every respect. I wonder if David or Brian use a fountain pen?

That's so much fun to watch. It's like watching someone who really knows how to surf out in the waves. I'm going to post a link to this thread over in Penmanship -- hope you don't mind.

Yes, you really are quite an artist. I'd love to be able to write like that.

Just curious though, why exactly is your life a verb? lol

The Omas is Mottishawed, yes. smile.gif The Koi is as it was found. Isn't it delicious? It's an eyedropper. There's a little crack in the celluloid at the base, that's why I treat it as a dip pen for now.

Hugely enjoyable! Really a big treat to see and hear. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Leigh,
I left you a comment on Youtube and added the video to my favorites. The more FP videos on Youtube, the better! Awesome editing job and beautiful handwriting. Take care! biggrin.gif
jonro
Leigh, that was absolutely captivating. I enjoyed it throughly from beginning to end. Did you have someone else shoot the video while you were writing?
GeeTee
Wow....your handwriting looks so good (and you make it look so easy)...actually for some reason i think David Byrne would like this video.
Bolvangar
Love it! I love the "Your songs still needs a chorus" part. Anybody else notice that? Is there something to that I did not understand?

And this is where I reveal that I don't have a tripod... wink.gif I held the cam for the first part, and asked a friend to help me because I realized everything was being shot from the left, LOL. Methinks I need a headmount. biggrin.gif

Wow. Just wow. I have to learn calligraphy soon.
Zeroblade
Oh, if I could only write half as well as you do...

That was a very cool video! As a hearing-impaired person, I really appreciate when I can read the lyrics to songs as I'm listening to them, but I've never had the lyrics displayed in such a beautiful and attractive manner before. So thank you! clap1.gif

Would you mind posting a picture of your pen hold? I tried imitating it from what I could see of it from the video, but I can't see it very clearly.
