Hi,

Thanks to Stan I was able to complete my MYU rainbow recently. These are all the MYU variants that I know of. There are rumors of a blue one but it does not show up in the Pilot catalogs so it might just be confused with the teal. There is another version of the demonstrator, with the champagne cap but I haven't chased that one down yet. I suppose I can just put the cap from one of the colored ones on my demo if I get desperate. eureka.gif

I look forward to receiving the MYU reissue to add to the pile.

I think #4 and #5, the ones with black and white strips, look the best!

I agree. I wish Pilot had decided to reissue the striped version too. Maybe that will arrive for Pilot's 100 year anniversary... then again I am sure they can find something in their catalogs that is more historically important than a MYU.

Yeah...it would've been nicer if they reissued the striped versions. They could lose the blue jewel too which I heard is fake. Is it made of plastic? :-) Makes me think of a child's magic wand, but knowing that it's coming from Pilot they probably aren't that "cheap looking" ;-)

Congratulation Woody! They all look fantastic. I only have the black stripe one. Perhaps, i need to start looking into getting a few more soon happyberet.gif

Love the dark background in the photo...really brings out the beauty of these pens

Beautiful shot, Woody. And gorgeous collection, I might add. biggrin.gif Although your collection is not quite complete yet (even discounting the champagne cap demonstrator). The M90! Once you have that, then... complete is the word. wink.gif

Ah, that white stripe MYU... puddle.gif I never tire of seeing it, except that a little part of me winces at not having one (and future prospects look dim).

Well, hopefully the M90 is a test run for Pilot and if they see good enough sales, they'll issue a striped version. thumbup.gif

There goes Woody again wafting that white stripe in front of my nose... drool.gif now that's only the 3rd photo I've even seen of a white stripe...

I will try to cut it out Siv, if you make sure not to post that VP rainbow anymore. I drool too, you know. tongue.gif

Thanks for the comments everybody.

Congratulations Woody. A great set which obviously required a great deal of patience and effort.

Very cool collection.

Now this may sound silly, but I find the original one to be the most attractive of all.

My friend at Pilot advised this is the complete set, although the new Myu is missing. Experience tells me to expect to find one or two more.

Haywoody: For some reason I thought I saw you showing a demo with clear cap as well as body a while back? Did I just imagine that? I sure like your group and am still holding out for the striped version. Tberry
MYU
Stan, is your friend at Pilot at all connected to the M90 pen? If so, I'm wondering if he might be able to divulge some information off-hand. I'm curious to know how much Pilot is aware of attention for the M90 outside of Japan. Also, if they do have a long range plan to officially release it in external markets at some point.

Gorgeous collection Woody. As far as I know, Pilot is releasing a new MYU 90 next october,

In the pictures is very similar to the third from left to right in your picture,

Julio

My friend is a fairly senior executive not directly involved with product development or sales. The people at Pilot know there exists an interest overseas but cannot quantify it or justify the effort. At this time they believe they will sell out all 9000 in Japan. Besides, if you go the the American Pilot (Namiki) website it appears they are mostly interested in selling makie.

Your post seems to indicate there is immense buying interest in the overseas pen collecting community. From what I read here at FPN, there is some but, is this more than in Japan? If they see sales to not be as hoped maybe it will be offered here in the States. Luckily, there exist online sellers and eBay through which quite a few will be sold. They will be tallied as sold in Japan, of course.

That was my feeling as well. I expect they'll sell out in Japan, but I imagine a good number of those pens will make it to other countries through re-sellers and online merchants.

Beautiful collection of pens. I know everyone drools over that white stripe, but judging strictly on appearance, I like the plain stainless best.
