Full Version: The desirability of snorkels

I've been reading and trying to learn about the various Snorkel models, and think I have a reasonable idea of the differences between them all. Can someone help me stratify the various models (or colors) in terms of collectability/desirability?

Yes. Have a look at this for the models end of it. In broad terms, the higher on the original Sheaffer ladder it was, the more it's worth now. As far as colours go, I know black is baseline, pastels are less available than their more present counterparts, and there's a specific green than seems to be the cat's nightshirt-- but someone else can probably do better on specifics.

For the differences between models, David Nishimura's site has a reasonable, though brief, introduction: Touchdowns & Snorkels

From my limited experiance the desirness of a model is connected almost always to the colour and not the model itself (except with the all plastic Fiesta Red Snorkel).

So here is by my experiance the disirable snorkels

1.All plastic model Fiesta Red
2.Veries solid gold models (dont know them too well but there are few)
3.Demonstrator
4.Fern Green
5.Mandarin Orange
6.Peacock blue
7.Periwinkel blue
8.Vermilion
9.Fiesta Red with metal cap
10.Sage Green
11.Gold Filled model
12.Buckskin Tan (pink)
13.All other common models (Pastel Blue,Pastel Green,Black,Burgundy,Grey)

This list is from my own experiance and I might be wrong in a model or two but I believe it can give you a pretty solid itea of the desirability of the veriace Snorkels out there.

Hope this helps you
