I've got a little Apica notebook (5B4 I think is the model number). It's 105 x 148mm (about 4" x 6"). It has a 6mm line pitch which I find a bit cramped ... but makes sense in a small notebook. What I'm wondering is, does the line pitch increase in the larger models? What for example is the line pitch in the CD15?

Thanks.

I'm using a CD15 at the moment and its about 6mm too (maybe 7mm) as I'm measuring with a ruler.

Quarter inch in my 6A10 journal

They may vary from book to book (and in one the line separation varies on the page), however, generally my

C15 - 7.1cm
C10 - 6cm
6A10 - 7cm

Thanks for the responses so far.

I've actually been a bit surprised that line pitch doesn't receive a lot attention in notebook review/discussions. I find it a key concern. Even a 1mm difference is tangible. It affects writing size and hence comfort/ergonomics. It affects how much information can fit on a page. It affects white space and hence whether the net result is an attractive page of text or not.

... or maybe it's just a personality flaw and I'm not supposed to worry about keeping the writing between the lines!

Very much agreed. I can not STAND 'wide ruled' notebook paper and 'college ruled' isn't much better. Neither I nor a friend have been able to find 'narrow ruled' (I haven't seen it since the last time I needed loose leaf notebook paper, a long time ago). Fortunately I haven't needed anything but notebooks of my own choosing lately so I concentrate on the nice bound ones like the C R Gibbons at Target.

I'd bet mm as cm would allow only a few lines on each page!
