Hi all

I wonder if anyone as info on who could take care od iridium retiping of a Chom-Nickel MB 136 nib ?

In here in Portugal I can not find anybody to do it. Neither the guys from the barcelona show can do it - I have asked.

Is the re-tiping with silver an option ?

I'm not sure what kind of nib that is, but for excellent nib work including re-tipping, I recommend Greg Minuskin in the USA.

I don't see any reason a CN nib wouldn't be retipped by a pro like Greg or John Mottihaw. What do you mean by "Is the re-tiping with silver an option?" Do you mean retipping the pen using the metal silver? If so, the answer may be no- I don't think there'd be a point. It would make for a bad tipping material, at least if you're talking sterling silver.

I will second the suggestion to use Greg Minuskin, wonderful work, nice guy, and FAST turnaround.

If it is the metal silver we are talking about, then I agree. Silver is a very soft metal, I think it's even softer than gold, and would not withstand the wear of friction with paper.

CN nibs are chrome-nickel steel, used during World War 2 when gold wasn't able to be used for fountain pen nibs (this was done by countries on both sides of the conflict).
