I've finally got my hands on a 52-- it's taken so long because I'm too broke cheap to go for non-eBay sources. The wait has proved (mostly) worthwhile, though: well within my price range (to whit, under $20 with shipping), crisp imprints and scalloped chasing, so little oxidation to the rubber that it's still shiny if not actually black, and a point as close to noodle as one can hope without actually floppiness.
...and a tiny chip in the tipping. Oddly enough, this doesn't render it scratchy, but rather over-wet. Still, it does somewhat kick the shins of the joy this sort of thing can bring into a house. Poop.
Enjoy. Having sold and regretted selling my 52's and moving to supposedly better Waterman things I now realise just how wonderful and deservedly poular the 52' are. Super pens and easily repairable - an undamaged nib should be cheap and easy to find.
