I am supposed to be getting mine tomorrow afternoon My father picked me up one on his travels I am so excited.. just one question though.. is it the same size as the regular Boheme FPs? For some reason it shows a larger picture than its counterparts on the Montblanc website.. I know there are some larger Bohemes produced, is the Marron one of them or is it also tiny?

I know I get to find out in a few hours I hope but was just dying of anticipation

The Marron is the same size and shape as the other Bohemes. This is a beautiful pen in person, you will be amazed. The online images do not do it justice. The rose gold and chestnut-coloured stone are mesmerisingly perfect together. Enjoy it!

And it is so so so nice..!! The rose gold finish, the star, the way the filling mechanism works its all amazing.. but the pen is TINY for crying out loud.. I mean, good thing I wanted it for my organizer but really unless you are carrying it with an organizer I wouldnt feel comfortably carrying it around otherwise

I know we had a post earlier about Boheme(s) for men if they go or not.. I need to figure it out first hand experience owning this beauty now though

I'm glad you got your Marron - one of the nicest Bohème finishes.

I was shocked, too when I first saw the Noir et Noir picking it up at the Montblanc boutique in Bremen (FPN member penparadise aka Axel was the owner of the boutique at that time and sold it to me) but since it is not too thin and lenght is OK with the cap posted I like using this pen a lot (even now I mostly use much larger oens).

I'm sure you will like using it as well. Just think about the Kaweco Sport - nobody discusses that one as a pen strictly for women.

Also on my last business trip to Dubai I saw a lot of men wearing and using a Bohème pen.

PS: what nib size did you get and what ink color did/will you use first ?

Thanks man and yeah 'shock' was really the word to use.. my reaction though was mitigated by the amazing finish like you said it all fits so well- the rose gold with the black resin, the dark stone, the shiny star and the cap everything in proportion.. the filling mechanism is just amazing for lack of better word

You know maybe its not all that small but it will take time getting used to after the 149 and 146.

It came with a M nib but for the life of me I have 6 MBs all with M nibs and not a single one writes like the other..!! This one is running a bit towards the thinner side, which is good, because some of my other M run towards the broader end and does not fit well my small writing..

First ink on it was MB Blue-Black.. the cartridge blue-black runs very dark (much darker compared to the bottled) and so it almost looks black really. I know you would have suggested black but I try to reserve black strictly for the 149s.

Black - me ? ...never The only inks I don't like to use are black and royal blue. Montblanc Blue Black is a great choice but I would have suggested Sepia or Burgundy to match the pen's mood.

PS: In case you think about cleaning the pen or changing colors, do you know that Montblanc has special cleaning cartridges available for those pen?

Actually that was what my next post is going to be about.. piston fillers you keep flushing and regular cartridges like the Starwalker you just run under the tap but what do you do with the Boheme(s)?

So basically you don't open it up and run it under water instead we use cartridges?

The Sepia I wish I had some it'd have fit but they dont sell them here.. the bordeaux i have but i didn't like its faded color

I mean, you insert the carts and then write around with the pen for the liquid to flow through or just put the carts and leave them inside for a specific amount of time then throw them out?

Otherwise, how does one clean/flush a Boheme?

The cart connects to nib/feed unit as usual but unit extends beyond pen body and has a squeeze bulb at the end(imagine small turkey baster). This bulb is squeezed to propel cleaning fluid through feed/nib. Don't know what cleaning solution consists of but have no doubt that it is "precious cleaning solution"

Yep I was suprised at the size of the pen as well. Actually I was lucky enough to have the seller take it back. Then again it was a plain black on so no beauty there.

Oh, I am glad you like this pen! If you are worried about carrying it on its own, check out the special Boheme pouches, as the well as wallets/organisers with Boheme slots. I acquired a 3-slot pouch for my triplets and it is just wonderful.

A larger sized Boheme is available if you can find one. These were apparently made for a short time only. I have both the small and large versions and the large compares on equal grounds with my 149. The larger size is seen at times on e-bay and is how I obtained mine.

Is the color of The Bohème different from the normal Montblanc black Color? Is,it realy Marron?

I think the Marron is because of the stone (its color) or the rose gold instead of the customary yellow gold on the pen.. the resin is black as always.. what is nice about this pen is the resin combination with the rose gold is very nice its the only boheme with rose gold i think
