It seems impressive. How much does it cost? Is based on 146 or 149 size?

I must say that it is a truly good looking pen. I hope that it writes well too.

By 18.5 you mean 18.5 K ? (whether that's Euro or USD, that doesn't matter much anymore)

I've heard that this is about the same price or higher than the Joan Miro' Montblanc pen and that one is $24,000. US

This new Skeleton is probably between 24,000 and 30,000. US

Beautiful Pen, by the way !
Congratulations !
I Love gothic architecture !

Are you going to ink it ?

I heard it was originally for the Italian market.....

1 Euro is, at this moment, $1.48 US
18,000 euros is $26,616.

Wow, is that chrome-plated?

Very nice and very interesting design. Here are the great features: great view of the telescopic piston and the metal color choice for the mechanism does not conflict with the white metal scheme; architectural treatment of windows for the ink chamber; constrained and tasteful use of engraving; mother of pearl snowcap; implementation of theme for nib consistent with the gothic or cathedral scheme of the pen. Besides that, its beautiful and one of the more original looking nibs yet on a new pen.

Overall something that should give hours of fun while examining all the details.

On the one hand one might consider a pen like this to be more than the sum of its parts so that it represents more art than fountain pen. Sort of like having an atom bomb in that even though you may never want to use it, it's gotta work or else what would be the point?

Thanks for posting this. Its the kind of pen that really is for only a priviledged few. Congratulations.

Wow, I was looking at a picture of it in a magazine and I was wondering if someone in FPN would have it... and here we go! My felicitations.

The pen is beautiful, such a pity the attachments have been removed. Milano is one of the city of my life, so it would have been great to have one but... Detlef, are you sure this is one out of the 86? I read there are three different series made by 1, 3 and 86 pieces (1386 being the year of the foundation of the Duomo, beautiful church by the way) and if the 86 series (mainstream...) is made of white gold, I wonder what the heck they used for the series limited to one... Kriptonite??

Ok. I'll live with that.
To add some info to the load that Brian already posted, I will say that there is an inscription on the nib saying "AUF". Is the acronim for "Ad Usum Fabricae" - Whatever shipment arriving in the "Navigli" (the water channels of Milan) got this inscription paid no taxes, since it was intended for the building of the Duomo. Ad Usum Fabricae stands for For the usage in the Factory. No need to specify which one, since the Fabbrica del Duomo lasted for over two centuries and the phrase is still used in Italy to point to some neverending story.
From this, derived the Italian (most Milanese) said: "ad ufo", which is not something about the aliens (though this would explain the usage of the Kriptonite in the pen) but means "gratis" or "without paying".

Cheers,
