Hello Everyone,

I'm a new member on this board and I just wanted to briefly introduce myself. I am from Ohio, but I am currently living abroad in the Netherlands. Although I'm not yet a collector, I enjoy writing with fountain pens. I first learned to use a fountain pen in conjunction with teaching myself to write in italic -- both have helped the legibility of my handwriting immensely.

I'm partial to Pelikan, mainly as my first pen was a (pre-reunification of Germany) Pelikan M150 that was given to me as a gift. I like that the piston is actuated without disassembling the pen.

I also have owned (and subsequently lost) a Pelikan Go! (75). In the not so distant future I hope to acquire a Namiki Myu as well as one of the really nicely designed Vanishing Point pens. (This will happen once I cease being relatively poor.)

Best Regards,
Paul

Hoi Paul,
(I guess you know this limbo greeting by now smile.gif )
Welcome. And you are very lucky to be able to live for some time in the most beautiful city in the world laugh.gif Specially now that the Vastelaovend is coming.
Great to have you on the board.
Enjoy,
/:) Hans.

Hi Paul and Welcome!

I'm an American wishing I could live in the Netherlands.

I predict that there will be a Mad Dutchman in your future! You are very lucky to be living so close to him.

Welcome!

As you may know by now, the Northeast & Ohio River Valley are under a LOT of snow!
Paul
Elaine:

You're probably suffering the same snow storm that DrPJM1 mentioned. I'm heading your way in June when I'm finished here for an internship in Freehold, if all goes well.

With regard to a certain Mad Dutchman, he is actually how I found this board... Googling for anything related to fountain pens and Maastricht brings up a number of his posts.

Hans Geelen: That's a great picture. I'm very much looking forward to Karnaval here.

DrPJM1: I knew about the Northeast, but I didn't know how much it had snowed in the Ohio River Valley. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Hi Paul, and welcome aboard. I like listening to Radio Netherlands on my shortwave radio quite often. I really like that country a lot, since my ancestors came from there in the 1600s.
