I just got my third pelikan (m800) a couple of days ago. Very pleased so far but have a question....

In my m600 (green/black) I can fairly easily tell how much ink is in the pen by holding the barell up to the light.
However with the blue/black m800 this is a lot more difficult...

currently filled with private reserve ebony purple if thats relevant !

Ditto with my M800 red/black. I find it quite difficult to see signs of ink in the viewing section.

Is there a method for increasing the visibility?

I think it is due to the blue/black barrel. I have an M400 with a blue/black barrel that I cannot see the ink level even when I hold the pen up by a lamp. However, my M800 has the green/black barrel, and I can easily see the ink level. I don't think there is anything you can do to the pen to make the ink level more visible.

I have an 805 with blue stipes ... It's not easy to see the ink but if I hold it up in front of a strong light I can see it ok (after it gets about 1/2 gone or more

Same here. I have a black 805 and it's difficult for me to determine the ink level. If I hold it up to light I can see it better, but it's still difficult.
