We had a five-day holiday last week and rented a little beach house just to get away. There were a few black swans and pelicans that lived nearby.

Nice photos.
What camera did you use ?
With a powerful zoom I suppose.

Thanks. It was a Canon vid camera that takes stills as well. There is a pic in this thread.

I'm not sure of the zoom. The first pic was from a jetty and the other two were from the beach.

before I read your text I thought you had copied professional photos from the web. Instead you professionally photoed the P's. Very nice work, indeed.

Ha ha ha!

I especially like the first photo, David. Gorgeous!

Beautiful. Apparently the Pelicans came inland from Ike this week and surprised a lot of people in the bay. We love to watch them when we go to the jetties...

or rather, what used to be...

waaaaaaahhhhhhh.

sorry. Back to those pics. Absolutely stunning. I think Pelicans are amazing and have since long before I found fountain pens. But I'm a birder (was, anyway) and birds in general amaze me. But watching the Browns dive into the surf is a joy. And tells us the fishing will be good. The whites used to gather on Clear Lake some years and you could watch them herd fish into a "corner" - great stuff. Wish I could take pics like that.

May I "appropriate" that first pic for my development PC (disconnected)?

Beautiful pictures, David. That first one particularly knocks me out. The tone is delicious. Thanks for posting!

blush.gif Thanks all. I like the first pic most too but it was a bit ordinary before I tried to fix it. I like how it turned out. KCat I'd be delighted if you used it for anything - PM me if you'd like the large version.

I also like the third pic but I might lighten it up a little more. The big guy was such a bully and chased the other into the water - you can see it all happening on their faces.

Wow, amazing photographs David. I particularly like the first one.

Wow.. your photography technique is very good... I also wish to be able to take some nice pic like this. I must buy a good camera first.
