I recently purchased 2 Sheaffer ballpoints with the intent to use them as fountain pens by attaching an F nib section I have. Unfortunately I cannot remove the spring from the barrel! I tried with a bent paperclip and with a screwdriver for about half an hour without success.
Is there a trick to it? Please help me as this thing is driving me mad...

Use a paper clip with a small hook bent on one end. A pair of pliers will help pull the paper clip.

Thank you Jon! I used the method from the linked thread (the "chopstick method"!) and I got the spring out within less than a minute. I had searched the forum before asking but somehow I had missed that thread.
