For sale on eBay. Seems like Sailor might be doing more of these sprint run pens; perhaps taking a page from Howard Levy's book?

If you buy a red Sailor and a Black Sailor and then interchange the caps, it would be to the same effect right?
youstruckgold
Probably, but you'd end up getting screwed! laugh.gif

I don't know about you, but I don't have the cash for two Sailor Pro Gears just so's I can swap caps when the mood strikes. smile.gif

I don't think Sailor does a Pro Gear in red. The only one I've seen is the slim/mini in red. A cheap way of doing a LE? Just a new colour barrel? Looks like the box is where the money went!

The picture makes it look like it's a really expensive pen. Can I dare guess the pen price to be at least 1 and a half of a normal Prof. Gear price (mostly due to the box it comes in), but I could be sorely wrong too.

Hello,

if you click on the picture above, you will go to the auction page. $198 for a numbered edition pen is on my opinion not too bad, if you consider per example the prices from Bexley.

It says the serial number is stamped in chinese on the cap? I wonder what that looks like...

There is some Kanji on the cap which makes if different from a regular black cap:

There are a few for sale on Shopping Mall Japan but for around $270...

This is more my style:

Sailor Pen Noriyoshi Nagahara award commemoration fountain pen - A Pro Gear king size with a special "2007" nib. $800 though!!!!!

The Kanji means "red". I don't see a serial number in the picture?

I go through Shopping Mall Japan - they have a link to Yahoo Japan translated auctions. Look under stationary.

Here's a link to the translated Sailor fountain pens auction page.

Google translation of the pen auction page.

Plenty of unusual pens to be had there! But for a price wink.gif

That's the one thing if someone has to explain to me why the pen costs do darn much it usually isn't worth that much to me thumbup.gif
