Full Version: Fake Pelikan?

I found a Pelikan M800 -- or so it's called -- on ebay for about $230. That seems way too inexpensive to be legitimate. Do you know whether these pens can be faked, and if so, how to tell a fake?

Thanks!

I've never heard of fake M800's. If this pen is in anything but unused condition, $230 doesn't sound that low. A good deal, yes, but not so low as to seem suspicious. Even a brand new one could probably be found for that price. Heck of a deal, though.

Maybe dont have company stamp on the warranty card ? Not from the real dealer.

The buyer purchase and regret , then release back to the market.

On the German ebay you see the M800 offered all the time for 190 euro or so:

but that is still around $270. I also wonder about the origin of all these pens.

There aren't any fakie out there. It is too difficult to fake these exterior casing thus the nibs. if there is fake one under US 50 kindly email me.

Thanks very much for all of the replies. I am really looking forward to this pen.

Do you have any suggestions about what size nib to use? I have been using a Pilot Vanishing Point, and prefer the medium nib -- the broad size is too big.

Thanks again,

Chris

You'll probably want a fine then. IMO the Pelikan medium is far too fat to be called a medium. tongue.gif Especially given that Pelikan nibs tend to be fairly wet. My Namiki M is easily as fine as my Pelikan fines. Finer in some cases.

I have one that I bought a month ago on the Marketplace for $190.00 in perfect condition.

$230 is average for one used. $150 would be cheap.
