Here is a pic of my newest acquisition. Not here yet, but I thought I would at least share the pic. It is a stub, so I bought a fine replacement #8 nib for it. I still need to find another similar sized nib for a custom pen I am commissioning, so if anyone wants to trade #8 nibs or has a big fatty to sell, let me know.

This is a clipless pen and appears to have been designed as such as it has no holes for a clip. I am not sure whether the gold is original, but I also don't really care as I love the look. This is a daily user for me and not an investment pen (as if there were such a thing.Ha!)

I will have to take some photos of this next to my #7 pink and 56's for comparison. One of these days I will have to get a 20 to compare it to. Enjoy!

Pretty pen, though i do suspect the gold tone band represents a repair. Is the pen of USA manufacture?

It is a New York version. I forget what year that puts it at. Any idea?

I got the pen. It has a buttery smooth stub nib that writes like a dream. I have an extra, fine #8 nib for it because I don't generally like stubs. But this one is just so smooth.

The 58 is a great size, though a wee bit small smile.gif Under the theory that more is better, I am seriously considering a #20. It seemed silly before but that big nib is just lovely. It is kind of addicting.

I checked the cap and it appears to be an original overlay. It was clearly made as a clipless and the overlay gold band is not covering a crack. The cap extends down to the bottom of the overlay, so there was clearly no crack or chip that it was used to cover or repair. It is stamped "18k" and appears to have wear similar to the rest of the pen. Other than finding a picture of one in an advertisement or catalogue with this particular overlay, I wonder if there is anything more that can be done to verify authenticity.

Either way, it is a nice daily user. Though there is an odd flow issue that I will bring up under separate post.

My report from the insanity fields of pen collecting thta I STILL can't explain adequtely to my wife and friends.
